Combat has evolved!

Well for once we have truly been told combat has evolved!

No more up and down slices from Morrowind! and No more Left to right slices from Oblivion this time they are getting serious or so they say, maybe diagonal slices is the future of combat approach as a means of sword fighting :P

Anyway away from the sarcasim, I keep looking back on the article and am truly impressed by what they are doing with the combat section of the game, to make it more challenging and more visually appeasing.

Yes it's the one area everyone knows will be great.

Can't wait to leave a wake of magical destruction across the map of Skyrim.

Play DMoMM, not play Mount & Blade. Now say that Skyrim has "evolved" the combat. I'm not saying it's bad (I've not even played it), but it's no evolution.

I really hope it's made up to the caliber of either of the two games I mentioned.

Also, Halo is tangentially related.

Haha, I got the reference in the thread title. :P

Definitely agree here. Skyrim's combat is looking to be the best in the series and very tactical in regards to how you approach it. Timing attacks will be far more interesting than the clickfests of Morrowind and the blockfests of Oblivion.
