Combat music wont end

Post » Fri Feb 14, 2014 4:33 am

The problem appeared after me finishing the Dragonborn DLC mainquest by using the console command player.setav (because the last encounter is ridiculously buggy).

I did not notice the music at first but after 20-30 minutes of constant battle-music it started getting tedious.

The problem apears to be the game thinks I'm still trying to murder the boss, since the quest is not actually completed.

Now I've tried a couple of methods of geting rid of music mentioned in other forum posts (such as player.kill and going to jail etc.) but nothing seems to work.

I regretably have no save files left from before the bossfight so I cant undo what I've done.

If anyone has any ideas for tagging the quest as complete or stopping the music otherwise, I'd be forever in debt.
Because as stands now I cant keep playing with music or it will drive me nuts.

May not solve the issue, but it's worth a try.

completequest

It says

If there is a quest target still somewhere around you can try movetoqt .

This one also looks like a good candidate: setstage

For this one it says

Alternatively you can try resetquest , which will undo everything done in a quest so you should be able to redo the quest.

You can try some other ideas I might have missed, I grabbed all the above info from http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Console.

You can also find ques IDs by looking up the quest on UESP, ID of the whole quest will be in the table on top of the page, quest stages can be found on the bottom.

Try that too:

To fix the looping combat music problem try "removemusic DLC2MUSCombatBoss".

If it doesn't work type "help muscombat" and try some other music code from that list. I hope it works out!
