A Combat Question

Post » Wed Aug 17, 2011 10:26 am

I plan on playing (first playthrough) with a sword in my right hand, and a spell in left. As you all probably know, I won't be able to block this way. I was just wondering, If I was facing magically resistant enemies, and found myself with little use for the spell hand, or just wanted to nix it, is there any way I could stop using the spell, so I could block with the sword? Or do I either have to have both hands equipped or none. This way, If I felt like spicing up combat, I could get rid of the spell and start blocking.

P.S.: We really should be able to block while dual wielding/spellswording.

If you put the spell away, you can block with the sword  You can then just switch back when needed.

I think pressing both attack buttons will allow us to parry with duel weapons and block with magic/weapon combos, don't quote me on that though.

You can easily unequip the spell and then block with the 1 handed sword. You can also cast a defensive spell instead of unequipping and blocking with the sword.

@Y Ello It's confirmed that pressing both attack buttons will simultaneously attack with both weapons. There's no parry.

I guess you should be able to 'favorite' an empty hand...if not, that is a definite issue to be addressed in a patch.

If you favourite the sword on it's own when you select it from favourites it will match it, so it will put away whatever's in the other hand and leave you with the sword.

If you favorite lets say a Spell, If you equip it then Un-equip it you will have an Empty hand.
