Come on, Beth...(vampires)

Post » Wed May 21, 2014 12:46 am

So just a few minutes ago, I'm flying through Eastmarch as a Vampire Lord, and right around Fort Amol I see a scuffle going down. It's the encounter with 2 Vigilants chasing down a vampire. Naturally they turn their attention towards me, and naturally get scrubbed. Now, the vampire that I just rescued...starts attacking me! ME! A Vampire Lord!

Listen Beth, I get that vampires are supposed to be hostile to everyone. I get that lorewise, different vampire clans are always competing with each other, and not all vampires are buddies. But really now, why on Nirn would a lesser vampire start swingin' blades at an obviously more powerful being, who is a vampire too no less? You know how wolves are friendly to you in Werewolf form? It should be the same with vampires and VL's at least. No lesser vampire in their right mind would attack me. Just a funny shake-head-worthy moment I thought I'd poke some fun at.

I would think that's a simple fix with adding and removing (upon being cured) factions. But I wouldn't know too well as the only time I touched that was to make followers. I always thought this was annoying though. I always wanted to have a chat with

or just any of those vampires even if they didn't have much to say or just to chill out in one of their lairs for a little bit.

just like wolves respect a werewolf, vampires should respect a vampire lord.

I don't play a vampire lord so I didn't know other vampires are still hostile towards you. That is rather strange.

In TES lore vampires belong to clans. It is believed there are over a hundred. These clans are not always friendly towards each other.

I think the sillier problem is that you can still die to fall damage when in lord form.

Vampirism in Skyrim is a total [censored] train wreck. The only reason why I still love playing as a vampire is because I love vampires in general.

The failures of vampirism in Skyrim are definitely going to lower my overall score of the game when I come to type out my review (which I hope will be soon).

I know what you mean. Thank Molag Bal I'm on PC with better vampires and a console code to add myself to the vampire faction.
