COME ON Bethesda make us happy! Its easy...

Post » Sat Sep 24, 2011 6:45 am

If you guys over at bethesda showed us 5 minutes of HD PC footage and 5 minutes of PS3 footage up to date builds with zero commentary ....... I think there would be some happy campers in these threads..... I personally wouldn't care for anymore info until 11.11.11.... I would be happy, and I would be able to make a choice in the version that would best suit my needs.....

Journalists are getting to play the PC version at Eurogamer and they've all said it looks magnificent and much better then the already amazing looking 360 version.

That's all I wish to see about Skyrim, as well. It's all I've actually wanted to see since June. Show me my version and the PC version, Bethesda. Enough 360 favoritism, already. It's getting to the point of unfair fanatic devotion to that one platform.

They can't show the PC graphics because then the console users who don't know how anything works will complain that their version of the game doesn't look as good. I've actually seen this before with several different games.

Not that I don't want to believe you (you're always on top of your Skyrim info, I see that), but source (just for my own reading)? Also, what about the PS3 version? Surely you want to see it too, Dragonborn1?

Can't remember if its skyrim or rage, but they said they're only showing 360 footage to "lower expectations" of the graphics engine. As a ps3/pc gamer, this made me smile.

The PC version being playable is a step in the right direction. Hopefully PS3 media will follow.

Edit: I'll be right back with those links for you Seti  And yes, I hope to see PS3 footage/screens/something.

You're kidding yourself if you think that's all it would take to make the as-yet-discontented happy.

I can swear to you without certainty that it would make me shut up with my weekly PS3 version rants, at least. Isn't it worth it... just to shut me up, at least? :P

...provided I like what I see, anyway...

My best theory is that Microsoft is attempting to capitalize on the game. There may be some kind of discreet agreement between Bethesda and Microsoft, but I am only theorizing this conspiracy because of the 30 day exclusivity of the DLC for Xbox360.

I really, really, really doubt my theory is true though. There could be any number of reasons. Maybe Todd just prefers playing on the Xbox controller, or maybe the PC version is more vulnerable to piracy if they bring it to these shows. Have there been cases of demo thefts? Is it easier to pirate from PC than console? I not just asking, I really want to know.

Er...but I'm already happy! Also, I'm getting it for 360. For those PC users who think I don't know how it works, I do actually. I've chosen my bed and I will sleep in it. Enjoy your hi-rez textures, I will not care. At some point in the future I'll get a new PC (mine is too old, only has PCIE vid. card slot) that can max out Skyrim. I'll purchase the GOTY version for PC (which should have come down in price by then) and then go ape doo doo with mods. Until then, I am perfectly content with my Xbox 360/42" HDTV setup and will still log my 400 hours playing Skyrim. :D

N.B. Don't worry so much. PC version will "melt your face" and for you PS3 owners, you won't even know you're playing the PS3 version until you lift up your controller to look at it. :P

hey Dragonborn...... what have you heard about the screen tearing and frame rate on the xbox360? has it improved? I have heard from many different sources that there is quite a bit of screen tearing I hope this is going to be fixed.....

The first article doesn't specify the platform and the second specifically says that they're playing the Xbox version and not the PC version.

 I game on the 360. to be fair i think they should release some footage and gameplay for
PC and PS3. i don't understand why they dont. i know i'd be pretty upset if they didn't show
how the game looks on my platform.

never can/ will/ or want to understand the VAST bitterness some people have over what
console they use to others. wow.
they should release the gameplay for these platformers though :spotted owl: . it aint right. ely

The strange thing is that when I asked the Bethesda staff about the PC version they all said that they've never seen the PC version, so I find it hard to understand how journalists were able to play it without any of the staff knowing what the PC version is like, consider that I asked 8 different people. There was one lady that didn't seem too know a thing about Skyrim :/ I actually asked if they actually worked on Skyrim and they all said yes but they didn't know a thing about M'aiq, the size of the cities and how much better the PC version actually is. (they said it will be better but not how much)

HD PC footage
1920x1080 please. Some 2560x1600 screenies would rock with all the fixings (AA, AF, maxed draw distances).

The first article does specify..."I sat down, placed my hands over the trusty keyboard and mouse and got started."

You're right about the second link. I edited it out. I linked the wrong preview.
