Ok. So, I now have the possibility to do the "Come Fly with Me" quest. Reading almost all of the posts and the Wikifallout, I still don't know if it is worth it. It seems that the quest sometimes gives the corrupt save bugs, and other times, it doesn't. Is this quest essentiel to the main storyline or can I skip it without too much problems? Thanks!

You don't have to do it. It's a gamble, I never ran into the corrupt save bug, but a lot of people have. My solution is if you want to do it, make a different save.

i had played around 12 hours one character did come fly with me and nothing happened. Though later I did have to restart my character after a very bad run in with multiple deathclaws left me trapped inside a house with no chance of getting out alive but thats besides the point. I restarted, i had no problem doing it (i had a laugh about the whole thing it was funny) and put a little more time into my second character roughly 16 hrs and then i did the come fly with me quest to get the space suit so i could go into some irradiated vault. I threw all my stuff inside the lucky 38 suite and headed out. i get out of the strip and then im hit with the dlc error. So i think it has something to do with the quest or just the fact that some one at bethesda or obsidian must really hate us...

Dont do that quest. That quest is one the reasons of the corrupted save bug.

I can whole heartedly confirm that this quest went smoothly without problems for me. Give it a shot.

Thanks everybody. Think I will wait for the upcoming patch to come out. No sense in me gambling 12 hours of play so far since it's not necessary for the main storyline.
