I used to play Oblivion back in the day on decent PC (for it's day) btu was always playing on lower settings due to the mods I ran. With OOO for example, some of the ruins where I was fighting several summoners at once would always crash the game. My new build is :

Sapphire 7970 3GB

8GB RAM

Windows 7 64

Basically, I want to play Oblivion in all it's glory, as I would have liked to a few years ago. I want to use Better Cities, Open Cities, better graphics, view distance - the whole nine yards. Not to mention using all the old mods I used (having to research them all over again ).

My issue with Oblivion back in the day was that it was never 100% smooth for me - I remember the battle prior to entering the giant portal was a nightmare, and I'd like to be able to play the game as it was meant to be. Is this a possibility?

Also, I've been on the nexus researching mods to play - are there any other great lists/sites out there that go over the must-haves? I used to use ~50 mods and I'm sure there have been some great new ones that I'd like to browse.
