Im coming from COD...

Post » Tue Jan 18, 2011 4:21 am

... and I find Crysis 2 both fun and challenging. It is quite different than COD (needs more skill, smarts, ect) and in COD Im a pretty good player (not being up myself). Now I come to Crysis and I'm not bad but not great, im sort of decently average? Im looking for some tips because Im getting killed more often and not getting enough in return. Although I do have the occasion COD like streaks where i end up with 13/k 2/d and have gotten all the killstreaks. Im just looking for a few tips to get used to Crysis 2.
:D

Stay on the outskirts of a map (I presume you are playing TIA if you care about kd). Move as much as possible in stealth and practice switching to armor out of stealth so you don't lose all your energy for shooting out of stealth and also you have an armor advantage over the opponent. Also if you are in a one on one gunfight and run out of ammo for your primary reload. There is a glitch where you can only switch to your secondary after doing a fake reload so it will just add time to the process and you end up with a weaker gun anyway.

Finally, headshots are completely overpowered. Take advantage of this. Aim torso and above consciously at first and then it will become second nature. You will beat the guy who shoots first but hits your legs every game if you clip him once or twice in the head.

Do things like knife only sometimes^^ Its fun.
2 years ago i purchased COD 6 as my first game EVER on ps3.
I was very good but Crysis 2 is more satisfying(or however it's written)
My kd is 2.52 atm
My best game was 23-0 ;D

1. If you're not behind cover recharging, you should always be in some suit mode, no exceptions.
2. Unlike COD where you can burst kill any opponent in your sights, Crysis 2 requires a bit more to kill so never fire at an unsuspecting enemy unless you are sure you can get the kill. If you need to, stalk them or relocate so you can ensure you kill them swiftly without bringing too much attention to yourself.
3. Know the hiding spots and never approach "no-exit" areas directly. Someone will usually be in them with nanovision on, ready to shoot you down.

Use energy transfer, stealth enhance and mobility enhance. Once upgraded to 3 on all 3 with the feline then you will be beast. With this class you can pull dissapearing acts on your opponent. Once you kill someone go stealth and reload. Then find someone and jump over them and then shoot them in the back and once you kill him go stealth again so nobody sees you. Repeat these steps and you'll usually get high kds. But with all this lag going you probably find yourself putting a whole clip into someone. Also use a silencer on the feline. Learn how to use your nanosuit efficiently. Learn when you need to go stealth when not to. With that class I told you about just now, I usually always run close enough to someone to make sure they see me then go stealth and then power jump over him then either stealth melée or shoot him in the back then after I kill him I go stealth again reload and repeat on everybody I see. Trust me it's very effective.

Sorry for spelling and misuse of words using Ipod touch to post.

Slide under enemy bullets. Nothing messes people up more than a nice invisble slide then a boot to the face.

Jump to avoid things. Usually when in a firefight I sometimes forget I can jump so high and grab stuff. Jump over people, around people, on top of stuff. Anything to throw your opponent off and get the upperhand. Its a situational thing but knowing when to use it can get you some easy kills from behind.

If your cloaked, don't stand right by someone who isn't, your just asking for stray bullets to hit you

I know they sound simple but you would be amazed at how effective they are if you can aim and get your timing right

Lol, anybody can be good at cod. Its funny when cod fanboys finally try a shooter that actually requires a bit of skill and they just get completely owned.

LOL no. Seriously STFU and GTFO.

..CoD haters are usually uninformed wasters, or just plain **** at the game.

CoD is good. Their game isn't for everyone, but the mature gamers would recognise that is DOES take skill to be good at.

In fact, absolutely anyone can be good at Crysis 2. At the very least everyone is capable of getting a positive K/D every game, simply because all you have to do to win is sprint around invisible and have half decent aim.
