Commonwealth Expansion

Post » Wed Oct 20, 2010 8:46 am

:fallout: i noticed there was a topic on this so lets put it to the vote and see where the chips fall. i think it would be the final piece for Fallout 3 it would complete the game. to me its just still not complete yet for some reason. the commonwealth would make a perfect expansion, even though i like all the dlc pretty much especially BS. i vote for it as an expansion. :deal:

I'm sure you've seen my posts and know my position on this. It should be a DLC for FO3 since it's mentioned so damn much.

Like a few people said in the other topic, it could have never been intended for this game. Its true that there was alot of support for it, but if you've ever played The Elder Scrolls, there were a huge amount of plots in the numerous books that "could have been worked with," that added to the games lore, but didnt promise any DLC.

They can use this plot for the next game, I dont know.

yeah i read your post an figured we needed a vote cause i think it NEEDS to be an expansion to complete FO3. and in response to the other post, yeah i have oblivion and know what you are saying. but for some reason as great as FO3 is, its still not complete to me. it needs a huge expansion, not all swampy like PL. something with another story, huge, for exploration all on the commonwealth. people have had great ideas for the details. i think it would fit very well and complete FO3. That very well may be true. The Commonwealth apparently is the entire state of Massachusetts, which would be a little big for a DLC.

My only hope though, is that if FO4 is in the Commonwealth, that the game is on a better engine. The GameBryo engine is completely unstable :S

they can do both, both games are huge and succesfull. they need to do both anyway because as much as i loved oblivion, once FO3 came out, i was hooked and its all i play now. i don't even think i'm gonna play fallout new vegas or TESV. i'll keep playing FO3 untill FO4 comes out. i love the story, i don't want to deviate from it for along time.

I agree, I'd prefer it for Fallout 3, but thats only because I want DLC, Could be better as a game, could be about the same for an expansion.

They could do both but as they say, All good things must come to an end. Id much prefer they focus on their next project (TESV) Besides 5 DLC packs is good enough IMO

Yeah. TESV would be nice. Then I could go back to the TES forums and leave all you Fallout fans alone.

well if it does end with MZ it will be a regarded by me as a great game, but it seems that it would be a better ending to FO3 than MZ and do more to complete FO3 than PL did, even though its good also. :cookie:

They ended Oblivion with around 5 decent DLC's. (And one full expansion pack.) A game has got to end, even if its an open world free form RPG.

true on a game having to end sooner or later. but the game isn't that old still and i think they can get more mileage out of it and make an ever better dlc more comparable with the main game, instead of some swampy area like PL. it needs more to finish it off.

Mm, thats a scary thing to say. When a developer tries to "get more mileage" out of they're game, they begin to slack on content and quality. It can harm them more than help them to relase all sorts of DLC's that didnt take as much dedication as the main game, as many other developers have learned.

Quality over quantity, otherwise the same people begging for DLC's here now will be back after its release date to complain about all the flaws and "things they forgot."

The Commonwealth is the entire state of Massachusets(Spelling?). Too big for a DLC/expansion. I hope it is the setting of FO4.

I honestly don't see FO3 having anymore DLC. I think the Commonwealth does need to be in a game eventually. As for the number of references to the CW in FO3, I think it is probably just set up for future games. Just like in TESIV, there are numerous topics about places that have yet to be shown in a game. Most people believe this is a way to tell fans what will come in TESV. :spotted owl:

Fallout 4 will eventually be made by Bethesda. Fallout: New Vegas is not Fallout 4, but Bethesda did say that they intend to make a Fallout 4 in the future. They did not give the rights to anyone else. And they aren't making Brink, only publishing it, just like New Vegas.
