Community of impatient a-holes fault for this rushed patch.

Post » Fri Jan 22, 2010 2:05 pm

Didn't really have MP problems except for some rare laggy, low framerate games before the 1.02 patch. Now I have problems like skyline having fps issue's whenever someone uses an orbital strike. And I can only thank the community of jerks who threatened, cursed and basically **** on crytek to hurry up with a patch. I for one was willing to wait for them to test it and make sure other problems don't arise. But this is what happens when you try to satisfy people who are rude on these forums. Now we got a half ass patch that was rushed untested in 2 weeks. I don't blame crytek for doing this because I think it was put out to shut people up while they work on a real patch that will fix the issues that we're supposed to be fixed but some weren't, like looping soundtracks, still dum AI, and so on and so forth. So please Crytek take your time for the next patch so you can test it and be sure it's ready for release in good working order. Also may I add, I think the framerate issue's have to do with lag. I've been in laggy games where the frames drop considerably and games where there is hardly any lag and the framerate is decent. Crytek please do something with the p2p servers. I don't need to play with a host half way around the world and I think that's what's causing all this mess in multiplayer. I'm sure you will find a way just like every other developer when they just released a game. Remember BBC2 and it's horrendous lag. Now its lag free. Just give them some time people and stop whining like little babies. If your going to complain about something, make it constructive and respectful. NOW, LET THE TROLLING BEGIN!!!

FANBOY, Yes and very proud to be a new one of Crysis 2, always wanted to play the first one but never had a PC, so I'm glad they brought it to consoles. I'm also a fanboy of Halo, Killzone and Battlefield. COD is too noob friendly for casuals. I'm a hardcoe gamer who likes a little strategy in his FPS games. I don't like basic run and gun, that's sooo 90's.

Oh, and for anyone who's about to say black ops runs fine and Crysis 2 is just a carbon copy of COD, remember, their was plenty of COD's before Black Ops which is Tryarch's carbon copy of MW and alot of ideas like regenerative health, duel wield, matchmaking/p2p, theater mode all came from one game that redefined the FPS industry, and that game is none other then Halo. That's not an opinion, its a Fact. Every developer is going to copy some type of game mechanic from another to improve theirs. Its just Halo doesn't need to copy from any other game simply because they started what it is today. This is Crytek's first game on console's so I give them the props for moving to new pastures. I know they won't let us crysis "FANBOYS" down.

The low FPS on Skyline during an Orbital Strike has been present since the beta actually. That was definitely not the patch.

This is what happens when an incomplete product is rushed to retail before it's ready. When people pay money for something they should expect it to work right when they buy it. Or at least that's the way things used to be. Now people just settle for mediocrity or worse.

And when you do screw something up, you better make sure that whatever it is you plan to do about it actually works. That is the way a good company does business, plain and simple.

The patch was actually submitted to Microsoft and Sony before the game was released.

I feel like crytek was pressured to put out a patch asap. the PS3 community ripped crytek (very few supporters or even positive comments about the franchise). Ofcourse Sugar Honey Ice Tea, does not roll up hill, so I'm imagining that somehow a team was forced to try and patch as much as they could with a very strict deadline. The game has only been out a couple weeks, but by day 3 people were already calling for heads to roll. Then a patch comes out and BAM.. more hostility. Personally, I hope half these messages aren't being read by little kids who want to join the site and pick up all these dirty little habits.. This is a public forum and you should atleast TRY to be respectful of others, not so much CRYTEK but other people reading the forums as well. It's a sick game and needs some tweaking (optimizing), that kind of stuff takes time. I mean if the XBOX copy looks so good, guess you should have bought an XBOX then. You think this is the only product with problems? Do you think this is the last time you will purchase a game before RENTING?

Next time get your feet wet before you jump in. all this fluttery keyboard courage on a forum GOSH.. sometimes it better to remain quiet and thought to be a fool than type some of the Sugar Honey Ice Tea, i read in this forum and REMOVE ALL DOUBT! YES the game still needs optimizing. List what could help make this game more playable and be a part of the solution.

THAT IS ALL

I agree with said response. Some of our community members would be more useful though if they could explain things in a more productive fashion (that's my gripe).. More than sure these developers are less responsive to the "yo this $*%$ game is #$*$&!!! $*&#^ you crytek.. FIX THIS #$)(*#&^" The bad part about it is that most of them have USEFUL information tied up in the nonsense. A lot of them touch some key points, but nobody is going to READ it the way (just throwing a number out there) half of it is presented. lol I ain't even trippin though. Just sayin

To be honest I didn't read a single post here, I just reply on the title.

First it couldn't go fast enough? Now that they got a patch they don't want it...?

First they bring a game out unfinished? Now they do a patch that doesn't really do anything much [actually makes the game worse for some people] just to shut people up...?

Fixed ;]

To be honest, I didn't play yesterday nor today yet, so I don't know what it will fix or make worse for me. It is true that there are people complaining things got worse, but there are also topics from people that fixed things...

Same as there were topics about people being unable to play and people being able to play. :P

But I honestly don't think they did a patch just to shut people. Why do the effort?

I won't disagree that Halo added a lot to the FPS. But it was not created by Halo. Doom, Duke Nukem, and Goldeneye for the 64 all took it to new levels before Halo.

I just got a few things to say.. First... this is so a run and gun game... there is little strategy needed to play here.
Honestly i put COD in a less run and gun game then here. on this game i can honestly run around and take out entire teams by my self. on COD i atleast like to have 1 other person to watch my back as i watch theirs. The only strategy used in this game is what power you should use and when to save your energy, which solo strat is called run and gunning.

The only FPS i have played that it is beneficial to have strat is Battle field. Now that said you can ADD strat to any game you want, but its just not needed.

And also about the actuall topic. NOBODY wanted a rushed patch people just wanted a post saying we are working on a patch to fix these problems and it would of calmed alot of nerves. Also on my end i seen HUGE improvements from before and after the patch. i actually was ready to start up Battlefeild or Black ops again till something new came out till i played after the patch.

none of this is new every game coming out now is the same. You get a thrown together game that needs a patch before you ever get to play it once and that patch doesnt fix most of the issues.

as far as them rushing patches out that is norm now also the developers dont hurry them to quiet people they. put them out after minimum testing. socom confrontation, MAG, socom 4, killzone 3 all these games are having these same issues.

The ability of developers to send patches out now is what is causing all the hostility and aggravation. since developers can put out anything a see about fixing it at a later date.

Dont get me wrong like the idea that patches to fix issues is great but it has turned into a crutch that screws the players. And is getting worse as time goes on. IMO

Your brand new car gets a recall.
Your freshly made burger wasnt made to your order.
Your button of your 1 day old shirt falls off.
They lid to your large cup of soda pops off spilling all over you.
Your favorite restaurant only gets a 93% on the health inspection when it should be 100%

All you stupid people need chill the hell out. If you want things perfect, go live on a planet ran by robots. Humans are never perfect.

All you dooches want to challenge the quality of a product. LOL, I want to challenge you on your real life work ethnics as see if your the perfect and most efficient employee at your place of employment

A brand new car getting recalled on day 1 is a big deal. What planet do you live on?

The quality of workmanship of products has gone down considerably overtime. While it is nothing to lose your temper over, a button falling off of a brand new shirt just shows how little many industries care about quality anymore. Mostly because to alot of us, a new shirt doesn't cost much. But when you pay $60 bucks for something that doesn't work, the annoyance level goes up.

Yes, humans are not perfect. That is why you are supposed to test the product first to see if it works like it's supposed to. If it doesn't, then it needs to be fixed before you sell it.

I agree, people are getting out of control on these boards and should be civil about bringing problems to the attention of the developers. But calling people names because they refuse to settle for this trend of selling inferior quality goods is immature.

Sorry some people aren't willing to let inferior workmanship slide.

I swear, some people don't know how read. I never said Halo started the FPS industry, I said it redefined it. Of course I know wolfenstien and doom started it all, goldeneye 64 brought anolog control to consoles. But Halo brought the system we're using now like p2p servers and the way the controls are set up among other things. Just don't be a hater because any smart person would know what I'm talking about and these are straight up facts, not an opinion. As for the other poster saying COD has more strategy than this game or any other game, are you on crack. COD is the very definition of arcadey run & gun. Thiers nothing militaristic about this game except for the fake sounding guns and uniforms. In Crysis you have to manage your energy while keeping a look out for the enemy as your teammate backs you up. If I had to choose for a realistic strategic military shooter, I would choose the battlefield games. COD IS ARCADEY RUN & GUN. CRYSIS 2 IS SOMETHING NEW, FUN, AND DIFFERENT. and that is what sets it apart from everything else. It takes a little bit from every franchise and succeeds, and there's nothing wrong with that. Hey if COD can take ideas from Halo then why can't crysis take ideas from COD.
