Pc community seems pretty butt hurt about this game.

Then you sir, are a moron, and explains your financial issues with PC. :D

Serious note: consoles and PC's work out about the same price (and slightly cheaper for PC tbh, hence why most students are PC gamers, especially intelligent ones who aren't scared of learning how to build), and if you want the maths of it i can type them all out for you just to make you feel all fuzzy.

I think you'll find that most students (in the UK at least) are in fact console gamers. Mainly because of the social options (splitscreen etc). And students have a general attitude that "PC gamers have no life lol!". I hate that phrase... 'You have no life.' If they could define to me what having a life was, then I would be willing to treat them like they dont have mental problems.

Your missing my point, you can't deny the fact the pc gaming is going to way of the dodo, the average person can not keep up with the price demand of having the lastest and greatest setup for these demanding games that are coming out.... especially in the times we live in now.

false no game these days require latest hardware to play on 720p............consoles also run on 720p...................

Note the qualification of 'intelligent'. I don't count people cruising for a 3rd in media students :P

Every gamer i know at university is a PC gamer though :) although that may be my influence after showing them the magic of steam and £3.75 games.

Read the appendum :) Pc gaming is both cheaper and booming. More people logged into just steam in the last 30 days than have ever made accounts on xbox live.

Also, PC gaming rigs can generally be put on a 3-4 year lifecycle, one which most people replace PC's on anyway.

Oh yeah, did you forget that? how are you talking on this forum if you play on a 360? with another device! The shock! That money + the console easily adds up to a good PC.

vesta i7 5200 sli $1800+, not including a monitor vs. $299 360..................... certainly not cheaper.

Anything over $650 is very excessive for a current gaming PC. So we have a $350 difference, minus xbox live, perhepirals such as wifi, the difference in games and the need for a seperate PC and taadaa, cheaper.

I built a PC for a friend with a quad core and a gtx460. It'll max crysis 2 at least on dx9, and it cost £350. Call that expensive if you want, but that's the same price as a netbook and much less than a new ipad. It's only £150 more than a 360 and it has much better graphics, wont break after a year, a larger game library, cheaper games and no xbox live subs.

You are wrong. Deal with it. Just because you know as much about computers as i know about the workings of your strange otherworldly logic doesn't make them expensive.

Everyone at my university are console gamers. I'm the only PC gamer that I know of (with exception to starcraft... everyone seems to play that....). Honestly though, if your an idiot, then your and idiot. Just because you play on PC doesn't mean your smart. A moron with no technical background could put together a PC if he/she wanted to.

Yup, paying 300+ every 6 months for which ever upgrade to your rig is needed, sure is convenient!

WTF? I have never upgraded my computer and it runs everything maxed out fine.

And i find it hilarious....money is in console gaming (dont try and deny this), money keeps companies a float. Stop crying.

Whats your point? Just because this is your philosophy of Capitalism it is not mine! And more than this it doesn't make the game any better.

You miss my thinking. I am not interested to play any console games or console ports. It doesn't even matter that 99% of all PC games are console ports, I am not interested in anything that is not at least 50% better than the console version. I already have a shelf full of games at close to this quality bar.

There are other things I can spend money on that don't even involve video games. So it is not the case that Crysis 2 on PC is only in competition with video games it is in competition with all sorts of other things.

Unless you are extremely nit picky you don't have to upgrade probably but every 2-3 years. I'm gaming off hardware that is probably closer to 3 years old now and I run BC2 fine (looks 10x better than console regardless if its a port or not). Not to mention the mouse/keyboard is superior in every way to any kind of controller set up you can think of. Quicker, more responsive.

I recently had to buy a new video card cause I burnt em up ($140). So, since I've had my computer that's all I've had to put into it. Just saying..and I expect I can run Crysis 2 fine on whatever is equivalent to "High", which for me will look and hopefully play just fine. A lot of people out there are crazy with the **** and a lot of it can be overkill, but for the most part you aren't upgrading every "6 months" like you said earlier.

Don't flame war please. i have the schematics for a 15gig RAM 12 gig of which is accessible(3 to run background) games console in my hands right now..
I might release it now just to kill off the PC community as you guys, you might have the Best device, but with directX you cant utilize it, and with consoles, no matter how dated the technology is, are cheap, reliable(ok red and yellow ring of death, but other than that).

Anyone willing to loan me 50million pounds for production, patenting and Marketing? I wont pay it back, dont worry

ah, the old console-kiddie fallback. that fallacious, ignorant argument that springs from god-knows-what sort of primitive conception of what a computer is and how it functions. do you think my PC is some sort of eating machine that consumes 300 dollars worth of technology for its monthly diet? do you think it runs on quarters? or perhaps it sneaks into my bedroom and plucks a 20 out of my wallet every night.

no, my little friend, my computer does not eat money. it doesn't cost any more to maintain than your console. the only difference is that, whereas every couple of years you buy a new console, I buy (for the same amount of money) the components to put together a more powerful gaming rig and assemble them in my PC. that is all.
