Companion Customization

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 12:24 pm

I noticed a few interesting things
-Codsworth-in the first trailer we see Ol cods he has
1- a saw
2- a flamethrower
3- carrying sugar bombs

Now we also see him with 1,2 in the beginning gameplay trailer...however once pro tag exits vault and meets Codsworth we see no flamethrower
- Dogmeat
When we meet him he has no items on..however when we see him in the "atom bomb" trailer find the part where your riding the vertibird..dogmeat appears to be wearing a red bandanna

I think it will be pretty cool if we have some decent companion customization options

As long as companions don't have ugly hats or outfits that don't come off specifically for them, I'm good.

I HATE not being able to simply remove a hat or outfit from a companions inventory permanently.

(I'm looking at you Cass)

No - because he simply would not fit (Frank Horrigan, the only supermutant who wore a power armor had one specially grafted onto him and the others are not fit for supermutants, sorry) and it would be overpowered (come on, those damned supermutants can soak up bullets, plasma and lasers and now you want to stick one (though he is a friendly one!) in a powered armor? - No, I don't think so!)

greets LAX

the T-60 is apparently a new suit, why couldn't a new suit be made for Fawkes? Also yes it would be over powered, but you know AWESOME!!!

Having the ability to pick a few perks for the companions every couple of levels would be nice.

You could customize them to fit your style of play and their power level could more or less keep improving with you.

I wouldn't mind having a setting that determines how effective the companions are in combat.

Boone could hog the action.

Perhaps there's armor for the dog? That might be a neat touch.

well most likely companions will get stronger with high charisma with the leadership perk we know is in as the settlement builder requires points in leadership for some things.

but it would be cool to be able to customize companions.. maybe give ole codsworth a paint job since hes all rusty and broken down after the nukes dropped.

I want to be able to give my companions clothing from other factions as well. Always wanted to give Veronica some NCR Combat armor, but NOOOO you're apart of the BoS and the BoS hates NCR.

The only customizations I want is to change the breed of dog that Dogmeat is. I know that will be a mod thing though.

Nothing against German shepherds, but I love huskies.

@Vargin Yeah, I would love a Husky. It's kind of stupid, there's only one breed of dog.

the companions aren't like in skyrim i think. I believe they are a few select people with stories of their own, so only one dog character kind of makes sense. :|

It's kind of stupid to be forced to always put up with dogs in these games. Many people happen to prefer cats, for example (and other pets, too, of course). It would be far better if BGS would show originality and allow more of a choice as they are creating their own lore for the east coast and are not constrained by the traditions of the first games in the franchise.

Instead, we still have the same boring and annoying dog. (sigh) Obviously many of us will simply get rid of it.

you're not the least "forced" to put up with them, you can just as well leave them to rot at their respective junkyards for good....

it's just a running gag mate, just relax & ignore :-)

...and about the cats: i think kitten pics have been spotted in various places in the prev material. which kind of suggests we very well might meet cats in this fo - i just suspect that, since pre-war time, they'll have..........

changed........

:-)

then take codsworth instead.. no dog then... you can even tell the dog to leave when you first encounter it.

i know my scientist character will take codsworth instead of the dog as robotics expert would probably rather have the robot.
