A No-Companion game

Post » Sun Jul 17, 2011 9:13 am

The companions are my favorite thing about FNV and I've played every game with them. I've been thinking about trying a game without companions for something different. I know some people never use them and I didn't really use any until the end when I played FO3 so doing a lone wanderer run would be somewhat familiar. I'm wondering if anyone has any tips for a lone wanderer in the Mojave though? Maybe Sneak would be the most important? Something else? How did you do it and what was your specialty? Your Specials? Thanks!

Imo, the game is more fun with no companions. Most of the time I'll have Raul sitting at base so I can have his perk, but my current and last character didn't even have Raul.

In my current playthrough, I'll probably do Arcade's quest later just to get Remnants power armor and power armor training.

High sneak, silencers on everything you shoot, high unarmed, snipe, have no less than 4 stealth boys on you at all times.

Just play as you want to, it's as if our characters were useless without companions.
Do keep weapons for different environments,

for example, explosives for crippling deathclaws and other melee based creatures

Don't hire companions.

You're going to need a strong back without your pack-mules.
