Is this fully functional for anyone? Disregarding squads and junk like that, does it work as advertised?

I'd like to try it out (and modify the disposition from 65->85 or 90+... and maybe insert a dialogue option run on them to leave you if their disposition falls below 50 (that way they'd leave you before they attacked if they can fall)).

Anyone reporting better results with the newest version?


Well I've got the 3.21 version and it seems to work quite well for me. I've got some issues on the squad system (some of that I comment'ed on in a previous post) but othervise things are working quite well. They follow me, they meet me in pubs - although that feature is a bit quirky, but I'll get back to that later. Everyone with high enough disposition seems to work fine (both friends and companions) in regards to stats-information and inventory sharing. Support mode works as advertised and direct commands with supp.mode off works quite well; they refuse to pick up weapons but that might be because i've given them the highest setting in rgd. to value-to-weight ratio and most weapons do poorly in that department. They do pick up armor though. The call companions mode work for me. I've found that I prefer having support mode off during battles as I seem to get game freeze if I for example open a chest while a companion decides to heal me. So I basically fight, give explicit orders and use support mode for "mopping up the area".

My companions fight with me usually doing a decent job of it - remember that aggressiveness is something you can set - but when I fight "good guys" my "good" companions may choose not to fight - Azzan actually attacked me when I went on a killing spree in IC. Anyways they are always good at "drawing fire" - though at lvl 23 I rarely get my self into situations I can't handle. I really can't say why it does not work for some of you guys. I assume you all rund OBSE (recent enough version), OBMM or WRYE (or both) and Oblivion "1.2". Check your load order (though I ran it loading fairly early without more problems than I have now) I used BOSS http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20516 to check my load order's healthyness in general and it put this mod quite late in my load order so maybe you could try that. I run this with 11 other mods - the major ones beeing OOO 1.33 and UOP 3.2.0.

Back to the "meet me in..." issue: When I order a companion to meet me at a city he, or she, will do that. But I have found that they sometimes seem to spawn inside walls or columns or whatever and I have spent some time getting to them so I don't like this command.

Finally they make GREAT pack mules, encumbrance does not seem to work properly on them - you get the message but the still run around, and not to mention good companions: I just cleared an ayled ruin alone and I felt "alone" :D. Decent companions with decent equipment do a decent work at fighting though, so they may hamper your leveling - which in vanilla may be just fine - but in OOO not so much. Anyway - this mod, at version 3.21, works acceptable for me - it's not flawless but I am not CLOSE to experiencing some of the problems described in recent posts.

The greetings are part of the 'Factions' addon, which lets you recruit guild members equal or below your rank.
Where they would act as normal Npc's without the addon.
Guildmates can still be recruited normally when you remove the Factions.esp, so that's what I'd advise and have done anyway.:)

This is a great mod, which I have just installed and been playtesting. I've noticed some anomalies which I am not sure are to do with my install or are inherent limitations of the mod. Can people confirm the following:

1. Companions will not equip more than one ring. Using equipitem console command to equip 2nd ring followed by dialogue inventory share causes game freeze. Companions will not also equip clothing tagged to the tail slot (such as KDCirclets). If this is a bug or omission - Can at least the 2nd ring issue be fixed? Allowing the tail slot equip would be great for lots of clothing mods and players using Argonians or Khajiit can simply adapt accordingly.

2. Weapon and armor equipping selection preference seems de-linked from skills and damage potential. My companion with a Light Armor of 88 would preferentially equip Daedric armor over Elven. Given the choice between a daedric longsword, one of Adonnay's high-level scimitars, and a 40dmg frost staff (more dmg than either sword), the order of preference was Daedric Longsword > Frost Staff > Adonnay Scimitar - Blade skill was 88.

3. Battle strategy - a companion skilled in both spells and blade when ordered to use ranged/magic tactics nonetheless engages in melee combat. Despite major skills in Alteration, Destruction, Conjuration, Illusion and Restoration I have only seen them cast Restoration spells. I am however, using L.A.M.E. so I do not know if this messes with it. The spells-to-scrolls dialogue option likewise produces nothing for me.

Everything else seems good, although automated ingredient harvesting seemed restricted to a small triangular loop - when my companion was asked to harvest in the Arcane University's garden she looped between the same plants despite being very close to many others.

I think this is a great mod, but it has a few problems that I'm beeing increasingly aware of..

* As some ppl already mentioned the "call companion" command doesn't seem to work at all, under any
condition.

* If I load a saved game in which I had my companions following me, they don't seem to remember that.
I have to tell them to wait and then order them to follow again.

* Taking something from their inventory sometimes causes the game to crash.

* Don't know if it's the game engine, but sometimes my companions choose really odd paths when following,
causing them to disapear from sight for a long time.

I've now played with this mod up to level 25, usually having 2-3 companions at a time. My experience is that
the game seems to get more unstable the farther I advance. Don't know if it has to do specifically with this mod
but I have never seen this kind of instability in the game since I first started to play 1,5 years ago. It's mostly
CTDs, but nearly as often the game just freezes

Could this be due to conflicts with other mods? What about UOP?

I'm using OOO and MMMforOOO at this time (all the latest versions).

CSR version is 3.2.3.

I really like the idea behind this mod. I think it's far better than CM Partners, but the bugs now interfere so
much with the gameplay that it's getting a bit tedious. Hope this will be solved somehow.

CRAP!

-Well, now I got problems as well. I had a most unfornate bluescreen last night, there's something strange going on with my computer as it bluescreens from time to time, but not following any pattern. Well, anyway - it bluescreen'ed as obmm was initiating Oblivion with the result that it corrupted the binding to all my mods - after trying to just re-activate them (causing me to have to ansver yes to every file that was beeing overwritten - which would be a LOT. In this case I'd love a "yes to all" button... :) ) I just decided to uninstall Oblivion and obmm and reinstall everything - I've made omod's of all my mods and I had a backup of my load order so no biggie. So I reinstalled and continued from my last save - everything worked fine UNTIL I tried to take with me one of my companions who was hanging out i the arch mages tower... She is not an essential char, but has worked just fine so far but now when I try to use the "follow me" command I get an CTD EVERY TIME... I don't get it, everything is identical; all mods, files and load order - yet CTD every time. I don't get it. I'm not so sure this is an issue with CSAR either. Sometimes Oblivion crashes on exit some times it don't. Maybe there is something that is different but I don't understand what... But until this happened I must say that that v 3.2.1 has been working quite well for me - I would get system freez'es if I provoked it (basically meaning running companions in "support mode" while running around in dungeons). Anyway CRAP!!

Wow, Talkie Toaster updated his bot script only last month! Haven't touched Oblivion in a long time. Just reloaded my old save game and I'm having a hard time remembering all the controls and what I was last doing and so forth. I seem to come back here once a year around Christmas time, hell it's probably a tradition now :) Was last helping TT with fixing CSR 3.12 bugs. CSR 3.14 came out but it had a funky new bug where the companions ran into the water and once they came out they were swimming in the air haha. So we're at 3.21 now? How is everyone's experience with it? Crash-to-desktop with CSR is rare. It's probably one of your other mods doing something funny. Now I remember. Debugging Oblivion scripts feels just like work, writing kernel services using purely printfs lol. I just beat Fallout 3. What a waste. I amassed a weapons stockpile, junk, and bottlecaps to buy me a small country but by then already touched about 99.9% of the entire game. The ending svcked. Finally used my two mini-nukes (I had 35 with me) and the game ended within 1 minute. Tried to get my Oblivion character imported into Fallout 3 but didn't have the motivation to complete it. CSR would probably do pretty good in Fallout 3 but the game just doesn't feel replay-able. My Oblivion saved game was still at level 1 for a while with 90% of the map already covered. Now I'm at level 3 haha. CSR bots rule. Sometimes I walk around with a party of 10. It's good beat down on punk gangs :)

This is a really awesome mod but I am having a really big problem.

Whenever one of my party members dies, the game CTD.

I am running deadly reflexes and a few other mods.

The only thing I can say to help you guys is make sure you dont have CM-Partners running alongside CSR. They're both recruitment mods, and CM-Partners comes packed with the White Stallion quest overhaul. In the end I had to lose the quest overhaul to keep CSR without mad crashes, but now Oblivion is about as stable as I'd imagine it can be.

i'm encounterign a rather sever e issue. for some reason companions stop following after a while. and when i open the consol I can see the word "Following" repeating over and over. this happend with someone in the Shiveirng Isles and with two mages who stopped following me in to Sundercliff Watch. wait allow me to be clearer. once i enterd sundercliff watch's se4cond cell my companions didn't follow me. i tried castign the call companion spell but htat didn't work either. so i wen tback to the cell. orderd them to wait then orderd them to follow again and they didn't even follow me in the cell we were in! what am i missing? here's my load order.

Well I got some problems that only just arised again when I started Oblivion and turned on CSR.

Companions won't always follow when I tell them to, and I can only give a gift if I tell them to follow me, if I give gift before I recruit them then nothing.

Call Companion still works and sending NPCs to pubs is still okay too so I don't know what the sudden problem is? I did have the 2nd verison which I say I like better now. If this problem keeps goijng I will switch to the 2nd (PLus you can recruit animals in that one). The only bad part would be the Dark Brotherhood members not talking to you outside of the Sanctuary.

Awesome mod, but when I put support mode on and an NPC tries to repair my armor the games CTDs. :(

I wonder if it would be possible to altar the script to be used for a hunting dog, whenever he picked up misc items or alchemy ingrediants he would dump them in the players inventory, but he ignores weapons and armor.

That would certainly make me happy, especially if I could simply tame a wolf and use that rather that buying a pet.

I have been having trouble with this mod.

Basically it looks nothing like the youtube videos and is not nearly as easy to use as I thought it would be. Rather than getting conversation changes, I get pop-up windows to tell them what to do. Not that tey listen for the most part.

When I "share" with NPCs they always accuse me of stealing - even if they have 100 disposition. Not sure why. It has meant that i can;t do it in any public place - even separate rooms in pubs etc cause me to get a bounty. The only safe places are my houses. This happens even if i only give them things.

I have the quest line saying that I have to recruit all four generals. I did this then sent them out to various towns to give me local groups when I want them - is there something else I am supposed to do.

I also cannot get any of the support aspects of the mod to work - they won;t loot, harvest, heal others (tho they'll heal themselves if they have the spells), or repair their armour/weapons - even if they have good armourer skills and repair hammers.

They will follow me tho often seem to get lost. I have already lost the red leader because he ran off in the widerness and despite waiting for over an hour (game time - just letting the game run) he never showed up again. His followers must be with him.

I can't see any of the generals on the map.

Despite all this I am still finding the mod very useful - but any help would be greatly appreciated

I have Kvatch Aftermath, the elder council and the origin of the mages guild installed (as well as CURP and CUO) but not any other share mods etc. These are the only mods i have ever had installed as I only recently started playing Oblivion.

Am playing on vista so can't get the console to open.

Its not ture . I had a 190 hours in with my game . No problems .

What about the size of the saved game file (that's how you can see if there's bloating)? Was it getting big faster (and bigger) than "usual" during your 190 hours of playing with it?

I had that issue as well and it turned out that when I upgraded to Vista, it changed my keyboard driver to a standard keyboard. It needed to be Standard 102 keyboard. Once I installed the 102 drivers I was
able to use the console again. Yours may not be that but I would check just to make sure.

I was wondering... I want my companions to be able to do some really basic things, such as sitting in the nearest chair if I tell them too, or to be able to climb up on a vertical surface with me (as in, one that's higher up but not necessarily far horizontally, such as having them climb onto a ledge or stand on top of a desk)

Is it possible with this mod?

Haven't been here in a while. I got the problem mentioned over fixed... something with the companions inventory, giving her back her original armor and then dismissing her fixed the problem... dunno why. But as I said this happened after a kinda bad crash. I still can't understand why so many have problems with this mod. If it is the latest version try to install 3.2.1 instead. That is the one I've been using for at least 100h+ no savegame bloating that I can see. Most commands function well - be careful with autosupport as it may crash the game if you do things at the same time as your compainons. Othervise orders work well for me, even "call companions"...

I think it is a bit harsh to deem a mod unusable just because YOU can't get it to work. I get guild members to follow me. They follow direct "point and click orders" orders, they work in "support mode". And at least a few of the behavioural presets work (what to loot, how to fight etc.) Sure there is a few bugs but I do NOT experience the problems you describe. So maybe you've done something wrong installing the mod rather than the mod beeing useless? Try version 3.2.1, if you can't get the last one working - I KNOW THAT ONE WORKS reasonably well. I've even reinstalled oblivion and all my mods and it still works. Use OBMM/WRYE and BOSS to assist if needed.
