This is probably a silly question but... I've only recently started to use Nexus at all.
I can't figure out where to find your pics? :embarrass:

I looked at images in Vilja's gallery, images in the galleries for Saerileth and Viconia, I tried image search...
I didn't find your pictures.
Where should I look for them? :embarrass:

Yes, now I found it!

Vilja's new haircut looks nice! :)

....and I think I can understand why your wife is always appalled when she sees your game...

the ladies seems to have... grown... a bit since I saw them in my game...

...for some reason Dolly Parton comes to mind...

:D

Now I just wonder how Vilja looks in Nivea's game... as he told me he turned her into an argonia :D

I'm both very surprised and very pleased to see you modding for Oblivion, or still modding at all for that matter Emma. Your Morrowind mods are a must for me, and though i haven't played Oblivion in some time, i'll be reinstalling it to try this out.

Thanks for the release! :D

Awww... you will install the game again to try out Vilja? I'm honored, The General :)

I do hope she will be worth the effort :)

I only recently started to mod for Oblivion - like I said in my first post, it was when I played through the game a second time this spring that I downloaded Rsdnt_Evle's companion Neeshka and found her so irresistable charming (reminded me of Grumpy's companions) that I just had to try if I could figure out how to make a companion, too :)

And during the playtest of her, I ended up doing some houses as well...

But I have never left the modding arena completely - I just had to 'retire' for some years for family reasons (my little daughter has been seriously ill, but is now doing a lot better). And the next thing I release will most likely be for Morrowind

Well I am horrible about makeing companions look like characters I have in my mind for my current player char, right now I am playing Rends-Flesh a Argonian... So I made Vilja to look like his sister, this just makes it more enjoyable to me to play your companions quests :) (I do it to all my companions I download lol).
Though my girls tend to be alot... smaller then Sulteric Drums XD

I hadnt been able to play last day or so but she did find her first ingredient and asked to find the item she needs for the next step.

Yes, luckily it's just a fantasy-RPG - had it been reality, all the three ladies would have been in desperate need of surgery to remove some of the heavy load in order not to break their backs :biglaugh:

Aawww.... :)

She's a sweetheart! :)
I was just writing an e-mail to a friend, enclosing some links to pictures of various versions of Vilja. I had just written "alas, I have no picture of the argonian version of her" when I reloaded this site and found your reply...

There will be a little update of the non-essential version of Vilja tomorrow... :embarrass:

you see... she... ghost-talks!! :embarrass:

It's entirely my fault... I decided to enclose a non-essential version the very last minute. So I just unchecked the essential-box, never showed it to my playtesters and...

Well... she died yesterday. As I bent down over her dead body (to plunder it :P) I suddenly heard a voice exclaiming: "This is boring... let's do something else..." :shocking:

Hehe glad you think so, soon as I started playing the mod I thought she would work out great as my Argonian character. :) I enjoy her greatly

You know, that's very good! I think you should keep it in with a ghostly voice when she dies. :)

Too late, Fable2, I have just done the excorsist trick on her ;).

There is now an updated esp-file for the non-essential version available both on my site and on TES-Nexus.

Those who use the essential version won't need the update (and I guess most people either use the essential version or keep her very well protected, as I haven't heard complaints over her after-life-behaviour)

I noticed she's changing from combat to casual clothing on her own. I had this issue too. You may have to have her "re-evaluate" her package once in a while.

Thank you for the suggestion :)

I assume you mean that she occasionally remove her armor when fasttravelling to a city? Yes, I noticed that - but as I'm a newbee to Oblivion modding, I didn't know how to fix it, and I saw the same problems on other companions as well (Neeshka for instance). So I accepted it, and it was only yesterday I for the first time heard about the evp-command (I assume that's the one you mean?). I will take a look at how you have done it and see if I can add it in for coming versions of Vilja.

If you have further suggestions, I'd be happy to listen - for Morrowind companions, I set up a forum-thread with tips and tricks on my forum (which is currently hacked, hopefully fixed soon :P), but I haven't found something similar for Oblivion companions.

This is the way I do it.

 if bNewPlayerRequest == 1               ViconiaRef.RemoveScriptPackage               Set bIsMounted to 0               Set fMountTimer to 0               Set bNewPlayerRequest to 0               if bIsFollowing == 1                    if bIsArmed == 1                         ViconiaRef.AddScriptPackage A909FollowArmed                         if GetRandomPercent < 30 && fCombatTimeFraction < 0.02 && fpvssyrTimer < 30.0 && fPlayerDistance < 150.0                              Set bSayGoingToBeSuchFun to 1                         endif                    else                         ViconiaRef.AddScriptPackage A909FollowCasual                    endif               else                    if bIsArmed == 1                         ViconiaRef.AddScriptPackage A909StandGuard                    elseif bIsWaiting == 1                         ViconiaRef.AddScriptPackage A909WaitHere                    else                         ViconiaRef.AddScriptPackage A909ViconiaGoHome                    endif                    if fPlayerDistance < 150.0                         Set bSayGoodBye to 1                    endif               endif               Set sDressingStage to 1               Return          endif

So anywhere in a topic, etc you can just do a ViconiaRef.bNewPlayerRequest 1

Then she will reset.

And, to be honest, I think your accent adds to Vilja's personality a great deal, I don't mind it at all :)

I have run into another problem with Vilja, as she won't use the bow I gave her at all. I had aquired the Frostwyrm Bow from the Udefryte Matron, and gave it to her. I also supplied her with several dozen elven arrows. Even though I tell her to hang back and use her bow, she frequently draws her sword and charges the enemy like a berserker. I am currently in Fort Rayles, and there is one section where there are three of those arrow traps in one corner (along with several Guardians of Oblivion OOO adds). Is this is an example of the bow issue you mentioned in your first post, Emma?

Next time I load that game, I am going to have Vilja wait until that corridor is safe.

No... the bow issue I'm refering to is that all companions I have seen, and also regular bowman npcs, occasionally stop using arrows in their bows - they fire without arrows and doesn't make any damage. You might have to switch cells to make this work properly again.

Is she using her bow at all, or only a sword? If she uses her bow a little, and then too early switches to sword, I wonder what the area looks like...

What I have seen with corridore systems where heigh level varies is that companions tend to calculate the distance to the enemy following a straight line x->y (sorry, my english isn't sufficient... :( I'm sure there's a expression for it). So an enemy that for instance is very much below you but close to you seen from above will by Vilja be considered as 'very close', i.e. she will attack him with melee-weapon even if she is set to bowman, as she thinks he is very close.

You could try and set her aggression to 0. (Let's avoid fighting). Then she will only fight if a) the enemies are damaging her health AND B) you have drawn your weapon.

LOL, yesterday she asked me if she should change her hairstyle. I said no and she was happy. Today she asked the same thing. I of course said no... and she flamed me!

Yes I know

she actually often has multiple ways to respond to questions, depending to her mood, disposition towards you, how well she knows you, and/or just random 100. I think this particular response is based on random 100. That she sometimes thinks you insinuates that she isn't 'sophisticated' enough for another hairstyle. Or maybe that was some other question...
