You mean the little green marker?
I thought it would make this one a little too easy, so I left it out... :/ Maybe I shouldn't...

Spoiler:

Try for instance Anvil Mages guild

Yes, in Morrowind enchanted items on companions will start to work *reversed* after a cell-change. Even if this isn't a general problem in Oblivion, it's easy to imagine that it could act up from time to time, just as other companion functions seem to get a tad bit unstsable after cellchanges (companion arriving dressed in her best gown instead of armor after cellchange etc - I think we have all seen that happen at some point and will all companions that have AI-packages both for armored and unarmored).

I wouldn't be surprised if somehow Bethesda has this still in it, and is a problem that is hard to iron out fully. Yeah, I've seen some very odd bugs, Like for instance even in my ps3 version(which has no support by bethesda at all) I remember standing on one of those ayleid iron doors that slide up, stood atop of it as it slid back up(they close when you go so far from them) when it closed, i was able to jump "blocks" around to backstab an unsuspecting vampire. A small glitch but still mildly troublesome.

This sounds like a great companion! Well, I'll have to try to it for myself! ;)

Anyway, does Vilja automatically transported back along with the player to Tamriel after taking a Sigil Stone and close an Oblivion Gate? Not that I'm worry since the main quest in my game has finished long ago. Also, I have only just started but I notice two things which can be improved:

1. There is no icon for the first quest (searching for Vilja), you might add a vanilla Oblivion icon to make things look nicer.
2.
Spoiler
When my character first spoke to her, I listened to her story (about her sister's business in Vivec City) but then chose the option "You'd better wait for her friend". When I came back later to speak, Vilja told the exact same story again (about her sister) which she has told previously.

If she doesn't follow you, you can always summon her to you - you will get a Vilja summon spell as soon as she becomes your companion.

Also, I have only just started but I notice two things which can be improved:

Sure :). I didn't bother with this, as I noticed many, many mods don't use any quest-icons.

Well, this was an intentional design choice. I'm thinking that if you don't add her at the first meeting, you probably have other plans that will take some time. And then it might be helpful to listen to her explanation a second time when you return to her maybe a week later. (It's a slightly shorted down version you get the second time, btw).

Heh, the first time I played Oblivion, in Bruma, I somehow managed to get a guard stuck on my head! He was sitting there, or rather trying to run, but my head was buried inside him so he couldn't get anywhere at all :D

heh the fun never ends. I was thinking, if the bug with the enchanted armor and the health boost, and the attacks has something to do with it. I'm wondering if they healed during the fight with a regen or potions. Something has to trigger the bug and it seems to only affect companions.

I don't think it affects only companions.... I'm trying to read up as much as possible right now, and I just read this recommendation to a player:

Then its a rare bug depending on mods it could be a damaged effect.. as I don't think any of us remember what we fought to cause it. Ayleid ruins could be undead, vampires, liches(i list them as their own class), wraith, and magi. the Altar does last I knew affect/effect(always confusing the two) party members... I kinda with there was a notice saying "so and so contracted x disease" Of course it would be a good habit to pray at an altar after each dungeon raid.

Hello! I've been playing with Vilja for a bit and so far it's been fun. Great work! I've encountered a bug I think, my apologies if this has been discussed already, but when I fast travel while we're both mounted, Vilja loads inside of my character in a strange way and I have to dismount to get her "out". When I dismount she sort of spawns to my side and everything seems fine after that. Thanks =]

Hmm... this looks serious.
I think she has fallen in love with you and want to stay as close to you as possible :)

No, seriously, this is something that happened one of the persons that tested her, too...
AND it happened with the *same horse* as you are using. The one you get first.

He then bought himself a new horse, and the problem disappeared.

I had actually forgotten all about it, as it was sorted so early on and never any 'real problem' :embarrass:

I suspect this is a snag with this particular horse, and the problem could be repeated with all horseriding companions.

Hope this helps :)

Thorbin, I haven't heard how things worked out for you, but I'm wondering if http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?s=&showtopic=1065143&view=findpost&p=15480425 might be related both to the problem you had with Vilja and to the similar problem with your own PCCharacter?

- She is very talkative, but you can tell her to shut up if you don't want to listen to her.

Never ever should I tell a girl to shut up. And she's nice enough not to do so. Usually I'm an anchorite in Cyrodiil, but things have changed now...

...And she's nice enough not to do so...

You know, that's one of the features I never even got around to testing. Because, quite frankly, I never wanted her to stop talking. I thought her random comments were one of the very best parts of the mod. Like Emma mentioned previously, some of these comments happen at marvelously appropriate times. After awhile I began to keep an ear open for the next comment, just to see what she might say next. Overall, I found her comments to be as entertaining and certainly less predictably scripted than the party banter in Dragon Age: Origins.

Vars?god, DWS! :)

Und ich w?nsche Ihnen auch ein gutes neuen Jahr. :)

I hope your lonely time in Cyrodiil will now be over, and that you will continue to enjoy Vilja's company!

I guess that *is* a danger... I've had some incidents when I've been some busy listening to her that I have forgotten what is going on around us :)

I have not yet played DA, so I have so far no opinion on whether or not Vilja is as immersive as the DA companions. I got the game as Christmas present - but my son grabbed it before I could even try it out :(

I'll have to wait for him to finish it... He just gnarls at me when I try to retrieve it...

(There should appear many new comments by Vilja over time - there are many greetings and thoughts that won't show up until you know her well enough... Hopefully that should keep her interesting for some time)

Thank you :). I'm truly so glad that people do like her accent (well, my accent... :embarrass: ), cause I was *very* nervous over uploading a companion who has my voice.

Yes, listening to a bunch of companions getting together can be quite amusing. I had an 'incident' the other day that involved your Stokker Wolf :D.
I had him, Vilja, Neeshka and a Partner in tow, and we were standing idle, Stokker Wolf, behind the girls. He exclaimed something like "I really like the view from back here". And Vilja instantly replied: "Why are you looking at me like that?". And I who thought he was refering to me! *giggle*

Yeah, that one is really insulting - especially if you have just swam over Lake Rumare and killed a bunch of slaughter fishes :D

Seriously, is this pure coincidence, scripted or AI? After I took some sweetrolls from the table, she said she would die for sweetrolls and if I would provide one. Another time in Bravil MG, storage area near the wine rack, she asked me for something to drink.

Well, the things that you describe happened out of pure coincidence - those dialoglines are simply random 100-based.

However, there are other things that are scripted, for instance
Spoiler
she will only wander away to do her own shopping, go to pubs on her own, spontaneously make potions for you etc
during certain circumstances. These things are filtered for location, time of day etc, both in order to be realistic and in order not to happen too often. For instance it would be odd if she decided to
Spoiler
go to a pub for a drink
when you are out in the wilderness.
