[RELZ] Companion Vilja ver 2

Post » Fri Sep 17, 2010 2:56 am

Thank you! Been more and more expectant of this mod - instant install here. And what luck, I am playing a Nord (if that is luck...)

Bugar ? bockar :celebration:

Another Swede, I believe ! :)

Hope you will like her!

Played a bit, so far pretty fun. Except for when we were fighting in Fort Homestead, on the first level, Vilja suddenly decided to flee, and there was nothing I could do to stop her.

Instead of fleeing outside however she goes through the loading doors to the second and third level of the fort! It's a good thing I set her essential because there was no way I would've been able to keep her alive with all those marauders in the places she was running into. :P

That also screwed up my stealthy approach. Oh well.

This surprises me a bit. Are you sure she was fleeing? Not following a particular enemy that had targeted her? I've never seen her act up during combat with these new scripts. But if she was told to attack enemies, and something attacked her, i can imagined she would followed the enemy to the next cell.

:twirl: No time to chat, got some updating/plugging in to do for all users here.... :bolt:

:) Thank you Emma, and cdCooley.

You must have quite a few ongoing Oblivion games in your house, I believe :). I'm happy that also the wife and the daughters appreciate her company - when I started on Vilja ver 1, a main goal was that she should be likeable for most players.

I installed version 2.0, rebuilt the patch and just before starting with existing save which uses version I remembered to ask: can I play using saved game with version 1?

You *shouldn't* need to restart Vilja if you already have her in your game. CDCooley have added some upgrading scripts that normally should take care of everything. If you check my post no 2 on page one in this thread - the readme - you can read about how to upgrade without restarting.

(However... Never use a quicksave for upgrading!!)

Actually, I hadn't started Oblivion at all yet! ;) I've spent the past couple of weeks installing mods, tweaking things here and there, and waiting for the KDQ and Vilja updates before I got started on a fresh game.

Awesome mod... at first I didn't like the accent, but I got used to it, and now I kinda like the accent.
I guess I should add some more companions and see how it will turn out... :)

I'm gonna recommend this to all of my friends who play oblivion. :D

@Emma,

You did it :goodjob: Just in Time for my new Game.

I am (was) not a great companion fan but this girl really attracts me, and since I am very curious about the interaction with other companions I am going to install Sulteric’s merged Viconia de Vier as well.

I am a big fan of Middark’s Heart of the Dead and that MOD will also add a companion if you want one or not. Unfortunately that MOD gives you the choice of 2, Kat the Mage, or if you reject both it will force Wintermoon upon your character.

Well, I have to see how it turns out playing the game with 3 companions, a totally new experience for me. As stated before people like you keep this old game alive.

Thank you and CDCooley so very much :foodndrink:

I've only played through HOD once and chose Dublin. I'm probably going to go for Wintermoon next, but I loved listening to him almost as much as I like to listen to Vilja's pvssyr.

I've also just started a new game. It's been months since I simply played the game without looking for ways to fix problems or add features. I've got Arren and Vilja with me so far and will be heading for Bruma fairly soon.

Ooh yes! I have a wizardly chap, and the only companions he usually has are conjured. This will be fun!

Super! Thank you--I've been watching for this!
Looks like I might have to start the mod over, though... at present Vilja won't follow me (part of the quest), so she's standing out behind Bruma freezing her butt off until I bring her something... :ahhh: I probably could revert to a save before that happened...

Aww... Well... If you have a potion of cure poison I'm sure she will recover if you just give her a little time. You shouldn't have to restart anything, this is part of the storyline.

That's true because I've actually done that quest in first version, so I know what to do when this quest is active in the further. :whistling:

Emma, you FINALLY release it and thank you so much for Vilja. :celebration: :celebration: :celebration:
I will download Vilja ASAP. :user:

As for Vilja's accent, I like it. It's something different from everyone else and since Vilja is not actually from Cyrodiil, her having an accent sort of makes sense too.

I'm glad that you folks seem to accept my scandinavian accent :). It is unlikely I would have found any lunatic voiceactor who would have agreed to record an insane amount of +2400 voice files. And now we know how people from Solstheim should sound - like swedes :D.

Emma forgot to mention an additional special thank you from my youngest, who has been missing Vilja as a companion and very much appreciates the new version being released on her birthday :), excellent timing.

Aww.... forward my birthday greetings to her! :cake:
I read somewhere else here that it is father's day as well. Although not in Sweden - here we have had a larger festivity going on. I've been spending the day skipping between Vilja's release-thread and the telly, where I have been watching the wedding of our swedish crown princess.

Ah, brilliant! A definite download. :)

My congratulations!

Thank you! :). Hope you enjoy Vilja's company

Richardrocket, if you play with a pure wizard character, it might be useful for you to take an extra look at the document about gameplay information before you start out! :)

(I mean the document enclosed in the zip-file)

Thank's Emma!
I think the biggest problem I was haveing was companions getting stuck in attack mode on enemies they couldn't get at, to where I would have to abandon them and they would show up later with "The Nasties", sounds like this should no longer be a problem, at least for Vilja :celebration:

:D I spent a mere 40 mins with Vilja after installing her today and I must say she is very charming ^_^ she's definently a keeper for me, I have a question though, I desired to change her hairstyle to loose..but when I access her face the CS crashed....it does this repeatedly and I've deduced that this is so because the mod is packaged in BSA (all my mods are I was delighted to see yours was as well), I extracted the contents and placed them in folder style like in the old days so that I could properly edit your ESP but the same result occurs even with the BSA moved from the data files. it is but a simply hair edit, must it be so difficile? what am I to do?

Well, I will only have to go back a little ways ... and now that I know what to expect, maybe if I have to leave her, it can be somewhere warmer. :hehe: I felt really bad about that.

YES! I haven't played Oblivion since I heard that the Ver 2 release was coming soon- I wanted to save the playtime for a better Vilja. :D Now I can finally play Oblivion again. XP

I'm loading her up now!

I know, but I really wanted to start Vilja again so I can relive the experience from first meeting her using version 2.0 - personal choice :)

Thank you for making this mod! :mohawk:

Off to playing it right away!

Thank you :)

There certainly *are* advantages with starting a new game with her in tow, as you will then frequently hear her comment on the quests you are doing (not DB and not so much Thieves Guils... yet... that will be in next version).

With the new combat system, you shouldn't have to worry that she will make it too hard for you to raise your weapon- and armor-skills. You can tell her not to fight - then she will not fight unless she a) get directly attacked (which, as you will find, happens very rarely) or B) your health runs so low that you are at risk of dying. Then, being your friend, she will rush in trying to save your life.

You don't need any delayers. The quest will only show up a while after you have left the prison. :)

Will the quest show up with an alternate start mod? Namely http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11495

Yes, I will. If not sooner, it will be triggered as soon as you enter Waterfront (I assume that's where your ship is likely to arrive?)

Actually haven't tried the Alternative Start yet :D
I'm about ready to start a new game and dont feel like doing the whole escape from prison thing again (and forgot to save before exiting last time I was there). I can always go to the Waterfront to start your mod. I was just wondering how it started, basicaly wandering if I needed to enter the sewers then exit again to trigger you mod.
Anyway, sounds like a great mod  Cant wait to give it a try.

No, if I remember correctly the ship will shown up in Anvil.

hmm.. so there is no way to tell her if we are hand to hand specialist then? except by carrying an extra dagger? :o

All in all, congrats on the released .. I will definitely go and meet her tonite again .. luckily EE 4.2 was also released today so all the more reason to restart a game. I pretty much settled on my creature list anyway :)

Whoohoo!!! Congratulations, Emma! :celebration:
I was hoping this announcement would come soon.

What an awesome Fathers Day gift this is! :)

I've got to go rehearse for my band's show tonight, but suffice to say, this will be DL'ed to my hard drive by the time I finish typing this! (and... done!) And if I don't get to try this out later tonight, I will definitely have a lunch date with Vilja by tommorrow afternoon!

Again, congrats and thanks for completing this; I'm sure it will be a great improvement for my OB experience this time! RAWK!

I hope you'll enjoy her :)

(Although, when it's Father's day in Sweden, I'm certainly NOT planning to give my husband a 20 years old platina blond nord as a gift!!! :chaos: )

As for the lunch date... May I suggest grilled mudcrabs with baked giant potatoes and strawberries afterwards? :)

Thank you - and thank you for the Nexus endorsemant :).

I'm glad you got used to my accent, as there isn't much I can do about it (apart from living in Britain or the States for the next 10 years or so). I'm trying to convince myself that I sound as cool as Ingrid Bergman or Greta Garbo
