[RELZ] Companion Vilja ver 3.0 ! (thread no 7)

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 12:30 pm

Actually, I'm kind of using the same disposition system on her as on my kids.
Additem sweetcake 1
moddisposition mom 1

works like a charm.

However, I cannot make the "clean-the-house"-package or "rake-the-garden" work in real-life. I think there must be an "idle-and-playing-"package interfering. Strange. It never interfers with the "Supper-ai-package"...

If you open up their AI, what does it have for "Responsibility"? My guess is that it's fairly low, and if their Intelligence hasn't leveled very far...

Well their responsibility was at 0. Intelligence and willpower was very high though.
On the other hand, they HAVE been helping out with the Christmas preparations :)

On request, I have put together a save and a little race-esp that will allow you to play as Vilja (or alter your looks to a Vilja-look-alike).

It's currently only available as an optional file on TES-Nexus: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28977&tab=6&navtag=/modules/comments/index2.php?tid=172080|:|fid=28977

I have a small problem, when we are in combat and she gets hurt she cannot
heal up herself afterwards no matter how many healing spells she casts on herself, same for
me when I cast convalescence on her. I have given her the best defence armour with
magic protection I can but still.

This has happened to others before, it was caused by a weapon from a mod that did that effect on anyone attacked by it. Sometimes the player touched Vilja by accident in the confusion of a combat. I think I recall the weapon having the word elven in it, but not sure. Maybe if you cast Vilja start combat spell on her and then checking yes on the emerging checkbox the problem could be fixed (until the next time you hit her accidentally with it).

Apperantly something is giving a Modav command on her, (Or any Companion (Adonnays Elven Weaponry for one)) about the only Cure I ever found was to "Resurrect" from the Counsel. (She maintains all of her Quest progress(but ewmove any Items you wish to keep))

I do indeed have a modweapon but it is not elven, it is in fact a sentient axe and
I try to stay away from her during combat because this axe is quite lethal so I
do not hit her by mistake. A while ago i had this fight with a necromancer who
summoned a skeleton so she fought the skeleton while I dealt with the sorcerer
and she took quite a damage and she is at lvl 12 at the moment.
A question to Emma, Vilja is sometimes talking about having a place where
she can wander around, what place is she talking about? Is it your housemod?

Regardless how she got affected by a scripted effect, the cures are the same. Cast her Vilja start combat spell on her and see if it helps. if this doesn't help, leave her in an interior for +72 game hours (make sure you remove enchanted items from her first).

When Vilja talks about having a place where she can wander around, you are in a house that you have told her is her home, right? You should bring her outdoors and show her where she can wander; then she will incorporate this to her daily schedule and go for a little walk in that area every day if she is at home and in wander mode. If your house has a garden, she will also harvest ingredients for you.

That sounds right, I do have Rosethorn hall with a mod so there is a small garden in the back, I think
I will show her that one, when I am there I will just tell her to relax there right?

No... if you want her to go there on a daiily wander basis, go to the topic "Travel together"->About this place->This is a nice place to wander...

(I'm afraid her extensive dialog is now so... eh... extensive.. that I have had to add sub-groups like this. It's the reason why I have also written and include a dialog manual, which I hope will be helpful).

From an older thread and seen under images at Tesnexus:
Xtudo has been so kind and made three optional HGEC bikinis for Vilja, based on Ryk's bikini models. They are available both at my website and at Vilja's page on Nexus (there are screenshots of all three bikinis on Nexus. These bikinis also work with alternate skin tones, so if you have a chocolate Vilja, an argonian Vilja, a dunmer Vilja etc, you will definitely want this optional add-on!

I cannot find it. Where in the nexus is this addon?

This addon is now integrated in the mod. You can now configure her swimsuit, in the options menu that appear asking about her skills and then selecting the book on top. Besides, now HGEC isn't the only choice. She use the selected swimsuit when she enter the water or when you ask her to go to swimming.

DWS, make sure you read the "Important information on gameplay" and the "Dialog manual"-documents.

As Vilja has so many customizing options and so extensive dialog, it will make things easier for you to go through these two 'quick-guides'.

Thank you all for V3 and the custom looks! I am having trouble with Vilja leading the way, however. When she or I suggest we go somewhere, she lets me pick a place but then she just stands there. I wait and wait but we don't fast travel and she doesn't move anywhere. What is supposed to happen?

She's not getting the new AI routines she needs. You're probably using an old version of the Sensual Walks, FCOM or OOO patches, or a customized Vilja.

If you were using Sensual Walks, you can simply remove the extra VWalk file since that feature is now built in to version 3.0.1. (You still need the most recent version of Sensual Walks, but you don't need the Vilja specific file.)

If you've been using a customized version of Vilja that was created by someone else, look in the updated Customization Pack 3.0.1 for it's update. Most of them are there.

If you have a truly unique Vilja, there are instructions in the new Customization Pack about what you need to do make your custom Vilja compatible with version 3.0.1.

If you're running the FCOM or OOO patches, send me a PM and I'll help you work out the problem. (Or just rerun with the latest BOSS data and it might sort out the problem.)

A question concerning Vilja's drinking habits...

While out-and-about Vilja sometimes drops hints about being thirsty, and not minding a drink. If practicable we'll visit an inn or pub. Once inside she'll say "Now that we're here, how about a drink?" I'm not sure what to do then. I've not found a "Would you like a drink?" option in her dialog menu. "Are you hungry?" as often as not returns the reply "Not really...". Having her "relax here" triggers drinking only rarely, I'm sure it's incidental. "Is there anything I could do for you?" lets me offer her strawberries, sweetrolls and sweetcakes, but not beverages.

Am I missing something obvious? Or is her request for drink purely a role-play devise and not fulfillable.

In the cases you have described, you can't give her any drink, but there are times, where she ask a drink when you activate her. In those times, you will have the option to give her one of the beverage you have in your inventory (beer, ale, mead and cheap and not so cheap wines as far as I know), in a similar way as when you give her sweetrolls, sweetcakes and strawberries.

First off, a big thank you to Emma and cdcooley for an amazing mod, Vilja 3 is my first companion, she makes the game so much more fun, it was so great the other day when Vilja said, "someone is watching me, i can tell"

I am running OOO and MMM, i noticed that there are two patches available for Vilja, one for MMM, and one for OOO-FCOM, which patches/patch should i install? Thanks again......

As you have both MMM and OOO, you can use any of them. MMM version offers more protection from certain NPC and creatures. So the choice depends on how involved do you want to be Vilja in combat. Anyway both patches are for version 2x.

In order to use it with version 3, edit Vilja NPC in Tes4edit, CS or other editor, overwriting AI packages from 1em_vilja.esp. You need to do the same with face, hair and other features if you are using a custom version of Vilja, as else the patch will revert her to her original look.

You can also import factions and relations to bashed patch, keeping the MMM or FCOM patch unchecked, solving both the AI packages and the look issues.

Tip for the corruption quest in Cheyhindal. You may not want Vilja with you when Adlo (I think that is his name) goes to confront the guard at his house. In my case, Vilja was with me and when Adlo initiated combat with the guard, Vilja killed Adlo! I assume that was becaus eAdlo then becomes a hostile faction. Anyway, after she killed him, she says to me in a sad voice "They killed him, just like that". Nothing broke in the quest, it was just funny.

Just want to say thanks for the new Vilja release. I updated w/o problems, my char finished Knights of the Nine on her own and gave Vilja the armor set when returning. One minute later she asked for money - so she seems to be herself after the update. ;) Anyway, I've already noticed several amusing new quips from her and the "follow the companion" features seem really cool. Plus http://i55.tinypic.com/10hk0zk.jpg when she even stops and waves you forward when you loiter. :)

I'd recommend using http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1146374-relz-companion-compatibility/ instead. Should work with all companions and all mod added enemies. Requires OBSE, though.
