Found an annoying bug where companions will not enter power armor by saying it is impossible, etc. when you command them to do it. I have replicated this bug numerous times. The problem seems to be that the power armor suit you are trying to get them to enter has just been worked on on the power armor rack (repaired or refitted with other parts) and the game probably somehow thinks the armor is still on the rack. Since companions cannot get into the suits while they are still on the rack, I assume that's the problem as the game still thinks they are close to the rack or are on the rack. A fix seems to be to give it some time or bring a new suit of armor on to the rack and start modifying it/swapping parts in order to "release" the previous suit as "being on the rack" still.
