Companions Disapearing?!

Post » Mon Jul 12, 2010 7:46 am

I recently recruited Boon and was really enjoying him. He's super helpful!
I was running around doing missions for Mr. House and The Boomers, at this time, he was fine and was just running right behind me as usual.

After completing the last mission for The Boomers and Fast-Traveling to the New Vegas Stripe to make a visit to Mr. House in the Lucky 38 Boon was gone, with all the weapons/Armor ect.. I gave him.
The only save file with him - was about 2 and a half hours of Game-play ago. (I REALLY wouldn't want to replay Mr. House's annoying mission again. Plus the stuff inbetween that, items I collected Ect..)
I'm sure he was lost somewhere in the Vegas Stripe. Is there any way to fix this HUGE bug without reverting to my last save? Will Obsidian be able to place boon back with me once it's fixed?

(Addictional Notes)

I still have his perk, so it's not like hes GONE. just stuck, disapeared, or glitched Somewhere in the map. This is very frustraiting. Any advice?

- Thanks. :P

Have you checked outside of Casino 38? When you have to enter a place alone (i.e. Legion Camp, Casino 38, etc.), your companions will enter a wait mode. So they'll stay put while you go in. So your companion may just be stuck in wait mode in front of the hotel. I know when I went into Legion camp I lost my companion. I had to go all the way back to the camp (well, fast travel), then tell her to follow me again before she would move.

Mind you I've lost her again myself and can't seem to find her.

I haven't officially Checked if he's there yet I just gave up and turned off for a bit after rageing Lol.
It's very possible because this is the first "Bug" that i've incounterd so far. (Besides some rare studers with the FPS.)

Thanks for your output, I'll make sure to check the next time I play! I appreciate your help :)

I have a similar issue except I can't get boone back. In Camp MCcarn terminal while interrogating silas boone entered with me, however I was kicked out of the room and the door was locked behind me before boone could exit, now when I go to lucky 38 or any place else he is not there, however when I go back to the interrogation room he is there, just behind the door, and I cannot speak to him in order to get him to leave or to cancel our companionship so I can get another follower. I have been looking for a key to this door but have not been able to find anything.

Well I think a lot of this issue could have been solved if the companion "wheel" had been accessible through the pip boy. It's much easier to go to your pip boy and tell a team mate to take a stim than it is to walk up and talk to them, especially during combat. The plus side of this is that the menu would always be accessible, if your companion got stuck or "lost" you could simply tell them to return ot lucky 38 or home whenever you wished.

this.

fallout needs to do this. ive lost three companions because i sent them to the lucky 38 before killing benny. i was lucky enough to find one. but i lost ira and rex. ill probably never find ira because i go a new companion in the meantime. i miss them. PLEASE add this Bethesda.

I don't think it would be all that complicated to program, add a tab on the pip boy to select a companion, then migrate the discussion dialog to the pip-boy box.

well i got a similar problem with teh silas interview room except im stuck in the room and not boone! plus silas was giving some very odd behaviour when attacked, standing up and sitting down and not aggroing. Autosave is back to the same place and last save was two hours ago.. dammit! this needs a fix Ive kicked silas's ass, he's confesed, but noone has come back to let me out so im stuck in here with him. Killed him in a few entertaining ways.. but now im bored. Boone just looks at me through the glass.. i think he's laughing at me.
