"Companions"

Just interested to hear what others will do while adventuring and most importantly what kind of character you would like to bring along!

Well, i'll be a mage with maby a dog, or ill just summon stuff.

EDIT: I never really liked companions, allways more annoying then anything else.

I'd like to have a mage for a wife, if it actually affects anything beyond a small bit of dialogue. Since my first charrie is going to be a thief, I think my best bet would be a heavy hitting warrior companion.

I must say I've been playing FNV lately, and I really enjoy it's companion system.

I hope Skyrim has something similar...
My companion will be a stealthy/archer type, so that he can back my warrior up and unlock complicated things for him:P

If I do get a companion it'll be a warrior. If I do get a spouse she'll be a warrior as well. Though I might choose neither, because I already have Atronochs, and Zombies to protect my frail body.

Yeah, I'd prefer an animal companion, at least until I get married, and first playthrough I'm gonna try and marry a noridc warrior chick I mean, how hot would it be to see your wife charge into the fray with a resounding battle cry and a giant ass sword and lop someone's head off in one shot. Not THAT'S a woman lol

Companions can be tricky sometimes. I remember in Oblivion some bug happened and this guy who couldn't die became a companion of mine and followed me around everywhere. As it turned out, every time I stole something he reported me and when I killed him ("this character is knocked unconscious...") he reported me too.

Edit: It was impossible to have him stop following me.

First character won't have a companion she works alone. Second Nord warrior will have spouse mage companion probably a healer. Some months later maybe i'll do a playthrough with another character probably a dog companion.

I chose warrior for the companion because i want someone to 'tank' while i sit back and use my magic. But as for my spouse, I don't want her to ever see combat and hopefully I can just leave her at home at all times for RP reasons, so I chose none.

I usually like to have an animal companion like a dog or a wolf. This time I would like a human AND an animal companion at my side.
If this is not possible in vanilla Skyrim, I'm sure someone will fix it later with a mod. This is for my second play-through. For my first,
I'll go with either. Not sure yet which yet.

I will be a warrior and have a (wife) Archer/stealth companion eventually. I will play with a dog companion on a subsequent game.

I'd love a dog, as I love dogs. ;)
Problem is if it died I'd have to reload my latest save.

Also not interested in marriage at all.

I've never been to keen on the idea of traveling companions in first-person games, as they are generally a nightmare to look after. However, since Fallout 3's companions weren't as bad as I originally expected, I'm hoping the improvements made are carried over into Skyrim. If they are, and I'm not playing a stealth character, I'll probably select a warrior type character as a companion (they make better bodyguards).

Married to a warrior chick. With all those scars she's gonna have from the chainmail bikini not stopping any weapons? With the rough, tanned masculine skin of a leather muppet from living a hard life? Boring shoptalk about how she's killed such as such a critter?

No thanks. That's about as un-sixy as it gets. May as well marry a pit gladiator named Harold and get it over with

If my character gets married, it will be to a woman that has a neat tidy home, good cooking skills, and ample hips for child-birth. That's just good sense
