Companions with some depth

Post » Sat May 14, 2011 1:16 am

Do you think there will be companions in this like there were in Fallout? I don't mean some faceless dark brotherhood companion like in Oblivion, but a character with a name, story, and quest(s) who, if you help them, will aid you in your journey.

I think I read somewhere that there will be, but I don't remember where.

Maybe someone can confirm?

I can confirm it!

Yeah like Baldur's gate 2 or KOTOR. That would be a nice little addition to the game.

I don't know Skyrim so far sounds to be the most advanced game that has ever come out, you should read some of the things said on it about the new Radiant AI and Radiant Quest Generation.

We know you can get a dragon as a companion. If they have a personality or not....that's a different story.

Erm....if something is in your company, is it not a companion? Regardless of how it gets there?

companions will stick with you and travel with you for a while, if you summon something it will go away after a while

I am just saying this for other peoples sake, there has been nothing confirmed that we will actually get a dragon to keep

Anyway yes Fallout 3 style companions would be a huge improvement but why settle for that when instead, they could just take a look at what BioWare is doing. That is the kind of companions i want. And yes a few romanceable companions would be nice too.

I'm all for companions that are in depth, but I don't think I'd want romance options in a TES game. :/ If we want that, eventually, we can always mod it in.

Not an option for the console crowd and while i have never really tried a single mod, i have a feeling it would get too imature and stupid.

Well it was confirmed that you will have a few companions as you go through the game. How long will the companion stay with us? We don't know yet but I'm sure it will be a decent length since they mentioned them though.

Not with Beth as we know them, only with better writers.
Is it me or is this becoming my catchphrase these days?

I understand your concern. Bethesda is really not that good when it comes to things like good characters and strong dialogue but i actually thought Fallout 3 was an improvement in that area, i could definitely see the potential in some of the characters so who knows, maybe they are actually becoming better.
