Comparing 2 PC builds

This is the AMD PC I was planning on building. I know it all works together fine, I have looked around quite a bit on it, including here. The other build is the same thing (It appears that Newegg only updates public wishlists every few days) on everything except the Mobo and CPU.

Will I get any compatibility issues if I switch to the Intel CPU and new Mobo? Like will I need a new gfx card or anything? I'm kinda new at actually building PCs. Also, will I see better performance, or worse? Thanks guys you are awesome.

You will want to stick with the AMD 955, they are more powerful then any of the i3 CPUs.

Thats what I was afraid of... I have been waiting on the AMD mobo forever from newegg and really don't trust going anywhere else. Anyone got a suggestion on an equal or better AMD mobo for about the same price? I had been looking at this MSI board:

I do like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130269, it has SATA 6Gbps compared the current one you chose which only has 3Gbps. As well as USB 3.0

True, but it is a micro ATX and doesn't support the CPU I'm after.

It will support the 955. The 955 is a AM3 Phenom II CPU. If looking for a standard ATX model, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130565

Save yourself an extra $20:

Good choice to go with the AMD build over the Core i3. System looks decent overall.

I hope you are buying in light of Intel's SandyBridge processors that are in the market and AMD's Bulldozer coming this June. Your budget might not cut it for one of these newer platforms, but they will be the latest and greatest for the year.
