I used to have my computer set up so that when you copied and pasted/dragged and dropped images from one folder into another that had images with the same name, it would give you a visual comparison of the two images so you could pick the one you wanted to keep or give the option of renaming one of them. I don't know if this was a feature of an older version of Windows or if it was a third party software package, but now that I am playing around with textures for a new game and there are a lot of duplicate images, I'm really missing that feature. I can say that I used to use ACDSee and another program called ImageWalker before I moved on to Irfanview, so it could have been an earlier version of one of those programs. Beyond that, I don't know. I figured I would ask this question here since I'm sure others might know of or appreciate a feature like this when overwriting images. So, does anyone know of a setting I can change in Windows or a third party program I can use to get this back? I know there are duplicate image finders out there that scan your folders, but that's not what I'm looking for. The thumbnail comparison would only occur when copying and pasting images into a folder where images with the same name already exist. I hope I explained this well enough for someone to help me. Thanks.
