Compatible rig for Morrowind

Hi guys,

Question:

I installed TESIII and I can't wait to get into it after such a long time.

To this end I also decided to install the MGE mod (Morrowind Graphical Enhancement IIRC), the mod works like a dream (except that that MGSO Options.exe seems to be a BAD idea because it can fail to re-create land statics files! meaning having to run the installer anew is not out of the question).

So my issue is that MGE does not recognize my crappy GPU: GEForce 820M (correction, I think i recall the game itself not recognizing the GPU even before I attempted running MGE), it goes with the Intel integrated graphical unit instead, which of course is not up to the task of handling the improvements.

So finally my question is whether i should get a new desktop especifically to run the mod, one that will recognize the GPU and is old enough to avoid compatibility issues. I noticed win8 is fine and all so it seems just the GPU thing is bugging.

My rig: budget Asus laptop with i3-4030U @1.90 GHz x 2, 4 GB ram, GEForce 820M GPU.

Some other poster (in the fallout 3 forum) already mentioned that this pc is way SUBpar, but hey, I moved to a new country not wanting to lug my old desktop in my luggage, so I bought this thing to at least have something at home.

Any suggestions?

My apologies is this topic has already been covered before, while searching i did not easily find any specifically related.
