Hey, that's what a "Beta" is for, right? Honestly, you could actually adapt http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38719, which is providing Test Updates for people without problems with the current, stable version. I believe it's been quite successful and could work out here, especially since this is dealing with a fundamental part of the game.
Of course, the first step is to get a first, stable release.

Heh... yeah, I wouldn't mind releasing it as is right now, but for two things:
- It actually breaks some quests (at least two, now that I understand what is going on)
- Any 'testing' done right now with it would be useless, as... at least 98% of the hundreds of scripts in there are going to be changed
The good news is, in looking at "the problem" and talking it over with several others, I'm fairly certain I've figured out a much better way to deal with it all anyhow --- it'll still take time to implement, and I'll need to touch all of the scripts already there... but it should simplify the changes I need to make substantially (as well as make it WAY faster/easier to make tweaks/fixes in the future).
...so good stuff overall... just unfortunate that I didn't find out this one odd behavior of this scripting language until now. *sigh*
