Completely stuck on Dead momey : Fallout: New Vegas

I'm stuck at the bit where you have to get dog into the generator room in the "fire in the sky" quest. I get him in there ok and then go through the diologue about him being hungry, so I go and kill a couple of the ghost things but all they ever have on them are weapons. I'm on the 360 and have tried from an earlier save, re-booted and installed the dlc again but whatever I do I just cant get Dog to wait in the generator room.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you talk to God or Dog? If you talked to God, he will tell you that Dog needs to be fed.

Then Two Ghost Harversters will spawn with a quest marker. Kill those and get the meat from them.

I checked this earlier but no joy, I dont have the option to lock dog/god in via the terminal outside and the two ghost harvesters that spawn only leave weapons as loot and no meat. Really dont know what to do which is a shame as I was enjoying it up to that point.
