I despise the NCR, yet at the same time I can't not be around them. It aggravates me to no end. The NCR is organized, they are a form of government and it just feels cool. There are many NCR quests and there are many cool people in the NCR. I like the NCR Rangers, a lot of cool cats. On the other end of the spectrum are the Misfits, it is really fun shaping them up into real soldiers. Many NCR places such as Searchlight, McCarran, Hoover Dam, Forlorn Hope, Camp Guardian, Ranger Station ABCDEF. Many cool people to meet such as Hsu, Crocker, Misfits,and Dhatri for example. While they have a lot of good quests, people, locations etc. I can't help but hate them at the same time. They are everywhere. The people are cool, but they are led by a land-hungry government whose sole focus is on expansion. I really felt bad for Orion Moreno, his house that he lived in for many years suddenly became property to NCR and had to face taxes. Not cool!. Another thing that isn't cool? Col. Moore. If I could, I'd cover her in pitch, set her on fire and throw her off Hoover Dam.

The whole problem with democracy in a Wasteland is that a lot of non-educated people get to vote now. Yay? Look at Kimball, he's obviously losing the war against the Legion, yet he still sends out soldiers to die. He's the proof that wasteland-democracy is not a good thing. Not to mention the lobbying for political reasons (General Oliver). They don't even value their ''alliance'' with Mr. House, one of the best people ever.

On my first playthrough I thought it was pretty cool to be on the NCR's side and fight with them. Now I'm on my second playthrough and I don't want to be on the NCR's side. On the other hand I don't want to be on their bad side either but I don't want them to expand. I don't want Caesar or House to expand either. On the other hand I do want the Followers to prosper and expand. I support them and their ideas and how to handle the current situation of the wasteland.

I don't want to play a "bad" character either so it's going to be very interesting on where I end up in this current game.

Well not quite because I know that there are certain parts of that questline I don't agree with for this character. So it probably is the best way for me to go to achieve what I want.

The ncr's biggest problem is that its being led by a bunch of idiots. Seriously look at Kimball and Oliver, those two are enough by themselves to make me not want to side with them. But then you've got people like Chief Hanlon, Major Dharti, and hell I like Col Moore. She may have extreme methods but sometimes thats what it takes.
Those are the people who give me hope for the ncr, who make me believe that they can right the ship and get the republic back on the track that it ought to be. And in the end its like Marcus said, they may not be perfect but at least they try, which is a whole lot more than anybody else including House and Caesar is doing.
