Compliments (and a reminder to some...)

Compliments to Crytek, Game looks really great, even at the highest settings it runs better than Crysis/Warhead did on my system (originaly build to run crysis wen it came out)

There are still some minor isues, luckly in my case nothing that ruins the gameplay (so far) but im sure everything will be ironed out in the next patch.

Once again, Great Job, better than i expected it to be, so thank you verry much for the great game :)

Now for the Reminder to some of you...

As most of the PC gamers i would rather have seen a PC exclusive again that really pushed the limits of PC hardware today, and seen the storry continue where it left off...

But i remember what Cervat Yerli said...

Crysis (1) was heavly pirated (probably one oif the most pirated games untill than) and if the same thing would happen again with Warhead there would be no sequel, atleast no PC Exclusives anymore, well turned out that something like 50% of the Crysis Wars players online where in posesion of an illegal copy of Warhead/Wars.

Its just a shame there are some many pirates and buyer/downloaders of illegal copies out there that dont understand they ruin the PC gaming industry for everyone, From the Developers who get less money for there games in return, and less money for developing a PC exclusive, to PC Customers that see great games only comming out on the consoles, or only see crappy ports comming out for PC, and even them selfs as less and less games get released to the PC platform.

Yet people still turn a blind eye to the piracy of console which is huge and one hacked console will only play pirated games which means that person will never have the intention to support the developer. The whole "oh my QQ crysis 1 was so pirated we will not make it a pc exclusive" is just a shameless excuse made by them for the "less mature audience" who own a console something to defend them.

Fact is that there are more pirated PC games than Console Games so i cant really blame them for using that as an "exuse"
Of a Console Game maybe 10% is Pirated, of a PC game its 50% easly, thats the problem.
Keep in mind that more money is spend on powerfull PC componends like Graphics Cards, High End CPU's and Motherboards alone than on alll the Consoles, there accesories, including 1 FullHD LCD TV per unit in the world combined.
The PC is still the biggest Gaming platform by far with potencialy the biggest market (estemated 3 times as big as all console and handheld gaming platforms combined) so keep that in mind.

+1. Companies use it as an excuse. If Piracy is so bad then how the hell is the PC still alive? Piracy has been on the PC platform since it's inception. But it still thrives. Hell most things that get pirated do. Piracy isn't just constricted to gaming and on the PC. Piracy includes the following media all of which still thrive : MP3's(music.), games, movies, and books. Hell anything that can be put in digital form is going to get pirated. But yet it still thrives. Consoles have had piracy since their inception as well. But they still thrive.

Fact of the matter is piracy is just a scapegoat. Simple as.

First of all 98% of all statistics are made up on the spot. (including mine but you get the point.) Secondly even though I'm going to elaborate further, those statistics from crytek and the rest on Crysis and warhead are inflated I guarantee it. Wolf fire will touch on this as well. So while they reported 50% it's probably more like 25%.

Don't rely on companies that are selling you the product to report factual statistics on piracy rates. They will inflate the numbers just to justify what they will do as a result. If you believe those statistics in their original form, your pretty dim m8. Sorry to say.

But what you don't realize is that maybe 10%-30% of those pirated copies were ever going to be purchased in a store. 1 pirated copy does not equal one lost sale. Also companies are notorious for inflating the piracy figures.

You want the truth about piracy? Here's an article that has the most unbiased view of piracy and guess what it comes from someone in the industry who would be impacted by piracy the most out of anyone. A indy developer. Piracy won't effect AAA developers anywhere near the way it will effect indy developers. But yet this dude has a completely different approach on piracy then those AAA developers.

Why do you think that is? Because piracy is a **** scapegoat, and AAA developers treat customers as criminals first, and customers second. Maybe if they treated the customer as a customer first, and a criminal second people wouldn't pirate as much.

But still some people will pirate anything just to save a buck. Whether they loved the product or not. But piracy isn't cut and dry like most people and corporations put it out to be. Some people pirate games as a way to demo the product before they buy it. So those figures don't mean ****. I for instance pirated both Crysis and warhead, as well as many other games to try them first but I bought the game in the end. I can prove Crysis and warhead with a picture if no one believes me(as crysis and warhead are relevant here. I don't need to provide other games as proof unless the need arises.). I'd be glad too. Just like I downloaded the leaked version of Crysis 2 but yet it's in my steam list right now.

heres my take i buy my major pc games i get retail. but if they want you to actually buy the games then they need to eliminate the bs drm crap. eaxmple? ok i legally bought crysis warhead and it had a 5 computer limit i installed it 3 times SAME COMPUTER as i was having hard drive issues at the time. then it refused to install again with the completely legal key! i had to go on the pirate bay and download a crack and serial just to install my legally purcahsed game. another example? i bought metro 2033 i installed it one time i went back and tried to install it again a year later on the same computer and it wouldnt install this time becuase of freaking steam crap. point of all this is the fact of damn drm they force on customers! they make it where customers who legally buygames cant even freaking install the game more than one or 2 times!!! this is why i play about 90% of games on the xbox 360...much simpler insert disk it plays as many times as i feel like MUUUUCH easier. im so damn sickened by the drm enforced on pc games i hardly even buy a pc game anymore! the game has to be special for me to even fool with buying the pc version crysis series is a exception and a couple of other pc only games such as diablo. its just like music you dont want people to pirate games? make them WORTH buying and not crap. and change the drm crap too thats the major factor why i dont buy pc games. just my 2 cents and opion

There are ways the could stop the mp from being pirated. Yes it svcks that it gets pirated but its just a part of things now like it or not. They could use random keys when logging into mp, or any other number of features to enhance security. I know they shouldn't have to but its about the same thing as biching about the price of gas, not much to do about it.

IMO, Crysis 2 does not... repeat, DOES NOT look better than Crysis 1. Not by a long shot.

horrible fov, soft textures, horrible painted decals on the ground, motion blur that looks like a drunken stupor... But in spite of its shortcomings, it's still a very fun game.

Crysis shipped over 3 million copies, even with heavy pirating, it was one of the best selling games of all time.
