I play mostly nords and khajiiti

but my first Skyrim character is going to be an orc, and the second a bosmer.

Sigh....no "undecided" choice. :rolleyes: I tend to play a variety of elves and humans, can't really say I tend to choose one race over another.

I prefer the human races, secondly the wood elf. I would never play Argonian, it's a completely ridiculous race and I have no idea what they were on when they came up with that.

Dunmer,Imperial,Argonian and Redguard.

Haha its kind of funny really because in Norse mythology the Norns were women! Physical representation of fate and all that.

Oblivion:

1. Redguard- My first playthrough was as a swordsman.
2. Altmer- My second playthrough was as a warrior mage who looks like Elrond.
3. Bosmer- My third playthrough was as a burglar who looks like Bilbo Baggins.

Skyrim: I'll decide later on when I get to read and see more about the races other than Orcs and Khajit.

Human races > elves. I'm gonna be totally racist against elves and slay em. Bretons won't have full rights either, being half elf and all... Beast races may live but shall be enslaved.

The bosmer are actually an awesome concept. They're in tune with nature and commit cannibalism and stuff. It's just that BGS has screwed them up in portraying them all as intensely irritating fat people in previous games.

I'll agree with that, their concept in theory is bada**, but it has been executed wrong in the games and now they're just annoying, short, weird sounding elves.

I assumed Redguards and Bosmer would be the least popular and they clearly are not popular but Orc's seem to be the least like race of all. Interesting.

They're derived from lizard men, which have been in various RPGs since D&D in the '70s. My opinion is Bethesda did this species (it's not just a race) wrong because lizard men are supposed to have their own way of life, outside of human/elven influence.

I would agree that having Argonians living alongside humans and elves, speaking English and running shops just rubs me the wrong way. I feel the same about orcs. Khajiit (being a species created by Bethesda) don't bother me as much, because cat people don't really have much of a history in other games.

Khajiits and Argonians are my favourites.

....Well, I say that but I don't tend to play as Argonians or Nords really, I always start off as a Khajiit, then anything after that tends to be custom races, but I say Argonians and Nords because they're the only other races that I like. I just don't like the race selection in the Tes games, most of the human races are just plain boring, the Orcs are fine I guess, and I really don't like the Elves, the Altmer are all snooty jerks, the Dunmer are snooty jerks with a thing for dead bodies, and the Bosmer are all either annoying as heck or completely batty, then there's the whole cannibalism thing. Sorry :shrug:

To date, i'd have to say i've mostly played Imperials, however I can almost guarentee that I will mostly play Nords when Skyrim is released.

My 2nd most played would be Argonian, followed by Dunmer which I can't predict will be changed after the release of Skyrim.

However what previously would have been an Orc character, my least likely to play character will probably become Redguard, i've never played as either really, however after seeing the Orc screenshot, I can safely say that i'll be quite eager to create a personality belonging to such a monster.

Breton- Who doesn't like magic? Lorewise. A very interesting race, how they are a mix of many races.


And at last... Ughhhh... Argonians.
They're way too overrated. And no real redeeming attributes other than water breathing which I can get with Jewel of Rumare, and the poison and disease resistance. Pffft, enemies never poison you and diseases can be easily cured with a cheap spell. And lorewise, they're boring and just plain boring.
