Computer keeps going into "Power Save Mode" when pla : Fallout 4

So when playing fallout 4 for a period of time, my monitor goes black ~~with the text "Entering Power Save Mode"~~. and my mouse and keyboard shut off, or if they are still on, completely unresponsive. CTRL+ALT+DELETE does nothing, and I have to do a hard restart and load up the game again after my computer boots. It mainly happens when I'm in settlements (then again I spend most of my time tinkering with my base, so that might be a coincidence).

I figured it was an overheating issue at first, and cleaned out my computer and changed the thermal paste, my temps never go above 50C and the problem still happens. I went in to my power option and set my computer to never go in power save mode. I turned down my graphics setting to med-high instead of ultra. I even removed all but two of the mods I used, and the issue still persists. I also have plenty of space on my hard drive (Several hundred gigs left). I don't know what else to do. :sadvaultboy:

EDIT: Quick update: I don't get the sleep mode popup anymore. It just outright blacks out or even reboots on it's own. Not only that, but I have strong reason to believe it's a settlement related issue because it only happens when I'm in one, usually doing something in workshop mode or crafting. I have never had it crash on me when adventuring about in the rest of the commonwealth

Could be your graphic card hardware issue. You mentioned 50C, that's your CPU temperature? What about the graphic card temp?

The highest I seen it go was 53C. Maybe a few degrees higher because I can't look a both of my monitors at once, but that's the area it hovers around. Another thing that annoys me is that it is seemingly random. I had it happen 10 minuets into one play session, and in another session it might not happen for an hour or more. All I can do is save when the thought crosses my mind so I lose as little progress as possible.

Question, the error either makes my computer restart, or I have to restart it on my own to get control of it again, do those logs persist after shutdown so I can find what made my computer hate fallout 4 so much?

Alright, I got my windows logs, and what am I supposed to be looking for? Also It seems like the crashes only happen in settlements/build mode and I have never had them happen during normal gameplay.

Under Application and System, do you see any Error or even Warning level log indication? Anything that is related to your crashing.

As far as I can tell, you are using 2 monitors, one is running at 1024*768 and the other at 1680*1050.

If above is correct the problem could be that you are playing on the largest monitor and doing nothing on the small monitor. When the small monitor goes into sleep mode it also triggers the large monitor. As you are playing a game you can not get the computer out of sleep mode again in the normal way but have to do a forced restart.

To test if I am correct, disconnect the small monitor and see if that solves the problem.

Quick update: I don't get the sleep mode popup anymore. It just outright blacks out or even reboots on it's own. Not only that, but I have strong reason to believe it's a settlement related issue because it only happens when I'm in one, usually doing something in workshop mode or crafting. I have never had it crash on me when adventuring about in the rest of the commonwealth.

Optimizer Pro Crash Monitor service? seems like a malware. Scan and clean your computer of all malwares.

Do you run any mods or any console command example remove building limit etc?

THat's half of what I need. You need to click on FO4.exe and make sure the dlls are showing up in lower pane.

Run PE as admin. Again, make sure dlls is checked in lower pane view on the VIew menu.

I reset my game setting and apparently me playing in windowed borderless was the brunt of my issue. Going back to regular fullscreen I was able to get in a 3, or maybe 4 hour binge before crashing. I need to "test" this further :wink_smile: and see if that really was the issue or just spectacular luck. Because before, my game would be lucky to last an hour.

I still believe its hardware related. Can you test your graphic card on another setup? There is no reason it should crash or even reboot your PC after hrs of playing.

No, I don't think so. I'm the only one who plays fallout 4 at my house, so there are no other computers to test it on, and I have never gotten this issue with any other of my games so I think it's something on Fallouts end.

Try remove all your mods and do the settlement building. Those mods r settlement related esp simple intersection, who knows.
