My concern for Brink MP PS3

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 4:04 am

As you may already know, psn has been down frequently this month. PSN(Playstation Network) is, from what I read, being attacked by an Internet hacker group. PSN is currently "undergoing maitenence" for sometime now, not letting me or any of my friends log on and play multiplayer. This whole hacking attack is very serious from what I have heard, and it could go on for some time now. Brink comes out next month for ps3, which I may get, but what if Playstation network is still having problems? I'm very concerned about this, for I wouldn't be able to play mp at all, and so would many others. What do you guys have to say about this?

Oh and moderators, if you feel this thread should be closed, go ahead. It was just something I thought I'd ask others about...

To be honest, I'm not that worried about for some reason, I just feel that Sony will get it sorted out.

I've heard that it's being done by some of the few, more radical (hard to believe eh lol?) members of Anonymous. And that they have been doing it behind the rest of the groups back as Anon stated they would not attack PSN because it goes against what they are trying to do, and what they have been saying.

Its been down for about 3 days now. I wouldn't surprised that they're taking the time to re-vamp their entire security systems so this won't happen again for a very long time.

Just because some babies got mad about not being able to manipulate their PS3 and threw a tantrum.

There is nothing wrong with owning all systems. i do. Im more partial to the xbox live side for Multi......but do enjoy some of the PSN only titles.

I would imagine the attacks will be figured out in due time.

Yea I would be pretty bummed if these issues continue to occur once Brink is released but at the same time it would'nt bother me to much as far as Brink as concerned since if the PSN does go down again it just gives me a chance to experiment with classes, body types ect to get better at the unique mechanics Brink is bringing to the table. Also the challenges to unlock weapons ect so there would still be plenty to do if PSN goes down when Brink is released.

The thing what really svcks is all those PN+ members paying and it didnt do them any good lol.

It hasn't been confirmed to be Anon. Last I heard some Anon members were posting on Facebook that they did it, than would go on another sight and state that they never did it. I saw on G4 that there have been a couple speculations on what could possibly be causing the PSN errors. I'm not so much as worried as I am pissed off. If some [censored] hacker(s) IS/ARE actually causing this than he can go to hell for ruining other peoples fun for his/her/their own amusemant.

Straight from the PSN site.

"An external intrusion on our system has affected our PlayStation Network and Qriocity services. In order to conduct a thorough investigation and to verify the smooth and secure operation of our network services going forward, we turned off PlayStation Network & Qriocity services on the evening of Wednesday, April 20th. Providing quality entertainment services to our customers and partners is our utmost priority. We are doing all we can to resolve this situation quickly, and we once again thank you for your patience. We will continue to update you promptly as we have additional information to share."

I concur with this^ playing through both campaigns offline and challenges for weapons and upgrades/attachments are going to keep me busy offline with Brink for a while..... and god bless SD for making a game that does not favor those with internet over those who don't. I won't be taking this game online until all my characters are completely leveled up and fully customized.

This has already been discussed. Heavily.
To be honest, I wouldn't really worry about it. Seriously.
It will be over before you know it.

And if it doesn't end, I wouldn't know who to blame.

i read about that group anomouse recently. There like internet TERRORIST IN DISGUISE. Lol I'm afraid to even insult them without fearing they will hack everything I own and leave me broke. Anyways, hopefully PSN will, as one person said, have a new security system which will block hackers for along tim, hopefully soon when Brink comes out. Lol oh and from what I heard, That anominous started atacking psn for sueing a hacker who told many people of how to jail break a ps3. No offense, but if i was in charge of Sony, I would not want my store being robbed by countless clowns in masks and noobs on my COD and BFBC2 with gatlin guns and infinite health. Some people need to think...

Sony will wise up. They'll either upgrade their security or they'll give in to a few of Anon's requests. Either way, it won't last long.
