Concerned that one can only level up to 50

Post » Fri Sep 09, 2011 4:46 am

Hi. I am a bit concerned that you just can levle up to lvl 50.
How long will it take to levle up, I hear rumors that they say it will go faster than in Oblivion, which also worries me a bit.
I like that it takes a long time before you rise in level, when you have a game as it is thought can last over 100 hours so one should spend some time on this. f.eks. if you choose to follow the main quest which is estimated to be and last for 30-40 hours, after having followed that then one should be lvl 50 after that is over, at least according to traditional gaming. What about the next 100-200 hours remaining to play the game, do you then walk around as lvl 50 and just kick ass as a piece of cake? it sounds a bit boring to my ears at least. Anybody have any thoughts on this and perhaps knows this better than me.?
(have I misunderstood or overlooked something?)

When it comes to DLC, it will be extended lvl system, ilike with expansion packs to the World of Warcraft? that takes you from lvl 50-80?

As far as I've heard you can reach the 70's, and still gain perks..? :vaultboy: You are not done once you reach 50.

Your source is incorrect. You can level past 50 (it's been said up into the mid seventies). Leveling after 50 has been said to be much slower though. Basically you can level until you max out all your skills (same as in previous Elder Scrolls titles).

Be concerned no more. You can level past 50 and that includes perks as well.

soft cap is 50 hard cap is 70

it just becomes harder to level once you hit 50, plus you still get perks now all the way to 70

Getting to level 50 is said to take as long as it took to get to level 25 in Oblivion. Don't know about you, but that took me a fairly long time. After that it slows down. A lot, apparently. Your higher skills contribute more to levelling than the lower skills, but once you have maxed a few, all the skills you use will be lower, and contribute less.

Well this is a relief to me. I knew we could level past 50, but I thought perks ended. This is great news though. I'm dying to see the Marksman perks.

I don't know; it'd be OK if we leveled to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbVKWCpNFhY

Scale is everything ;)

And really, I can't imagine leveling faster than Oblivion. I was brought up with it only occuring pretty rarely - kind of like a birthday party for your character lol

50 is the soft cap meaning that if you choose an average amount of skills and max them you will be around level 50, but you can get all skills to 100 and the max level will be between 70-80.

about 1 week into the game someone is going to find a glitch where you can lvl at the start of the game(or close too it) like the 2 fallout games, and oblivion(well Invincibility in that game but you get the point) i think it's just gamesas way of letting use cheat. i think they put them in there :celebration:

Soft cap is at 50, where it becomes harder to level up afterwards but you can still get perks.
The hypothetical maximum is 75, when all of your skills reach 100 and you can't level up any more.
So you can have a maximum of 74 perks out of the 280 (including multiple ranks)

you only level faster early on, once to get to a certain range, it slows down significantly.

you can level past 50, and keep gaining perks...

if you wanna get to the highest possible level, you can just max out all the skills in the game, you're not restricted by major skills anymore.

maxing out all the skills will get you over level 70 or so... so thats about 70+ of the 200+ perks in the game, i guess, and only if you decide to play some crazy master-of-all-things-in-existence type character.

i dont think there will be anything to worry about, im sure bethesda knows what they're doing.

Being that every source and interview I've heard has said that the only cap is when all your skills hit 100 (no small task) and that the scaling stops at 50 but you can definitely keep going past there, I can't see why people would think the cap was 50.

50 is just the softcap, there is NO hardcap to level.

Also- you gain a perk EVERY time you level NO matter how high you level.
