Concerning Avatars

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 5:24 am

Every time I try to upload a new one, it always seems too small no matter what the size of the image. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Your avatar is the same size as everyone else.

But how do I make it as large as possible? Is it in the height/width ratio?

Well... Mine is 90x90 and looks like you can go all way to 90x120 now.

Hold up, what about http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/user/608202-akaryu/? His seems slightly larger than mine. And http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/user/467509-vtastek/ is plain massive! I'm not just pointing out random facts. I'd like to have an avatar the same size. Might be pointless but I don't plan on leaving the forums for a good time until Skyrim comes out. My profile might as well look spiffy.

Feeling the need to compensate for something are we? :P

Don't worry about it, people don't go around mocking people with slightly-smaller-then-the-max avatars. At least not since last Thursday.

I'm pretty sure that was sarcasm.

Your avatar is 90 x 83, their avatar is 90 x 93. If it holds true that the max is 90x120 then you both can have bigger avatars. You have a smaller avatar than some people because they uploaded a bigger avatar than you did. The website doesn't upscale avatars, only downscales. Thus if you want a bigger avatar you have to upload a bigger image.

You uploaded an image that is wider than it is tall, and the max resolution is 90 pixels wide by 120 pixels tall. It's like a widescreen movie on a normal television, if you want it to fit then crop it yourself.

I'm aware. I was adding to the joke. Guess I wasn't being funny. Alright, thanks again everyone.

Update #1: Awesome! It looks like crap but I got it! I'll have to do some polishing. Making a fool of myself was well worth it.

Update #2: Yeah, big dawg now! Check out! w00t w00t
