Concerning the Dunmer city

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 8:35 pm

Seeing as how Skyrim will feature a Dunmer city, do you think that city will feature ordinators? I think it would be great to see them again.

It'd be great to see them and their armour again, but since they're Tribunal Temple guards, I highly doubt it.

Yeah Ordinators would be great but as Fearless Hero said I don't think we'll get them.
Maybe we will have a dunmer temple inside the city which is guarded by them :o

But I definitely want to see some Hlaalu Guards in bonemold armor with, off course, the dark voice we had in Morrowind

As long as the Ordinators don't endlessly try to kill me and break my game when I steal a piece of their armour, whether I've tried to return it or not.

Ordinators were part of the Tribunal Temple, seeing as the Tribunal doesn't exist anymore I do not see why there would be Ordinators in the way they were in Morrowind. I could see there being remnants of armor and their way of life but they do not serve the same purpose as they once did.

everything on this list in my OP:
http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1174057-dunmer-cultural-influence/
The Dunmer always had a very distinct and interesting culture (IMO at least). Now that many Dark Elves are being driven out of their land by argonians, do you think we're gonna see Dunmer culture spill over into Skyrim?

Dunmer Culture includes (but is not limited to):

  • Ashlanders
  • Tribunal
  • Morag Tong
  • Dunmer Architecture
  • Commona Tong
  • Dunmer Armor (i.e.Bonemold, Telvanni Helmets)
  • Great Houses

If I recall correctly, ordinators wheren't temple guards. They where indoril guards, being indoril house the one providing guards to the temple. Anyway it seems Indoril house where about to be exterminated by a herself- Hlaalu aliance in Oblivion, so the result is the same.

Is there actually going to be a Dunmer city, though? I thought I remember hearing that there was going to be a Dunmer settlement, but I interpreted that as being something like the little settlements we had in Oblivion.

I don't think a settlement with three dunmers counts as a dunmer settlement. So, I don't think this going to be like Oblivion ones. Maybe not a city either though.

i think the OP means this:
Winterhold (sometimes called Winter Hold) is the capital of the namesake county and a coastal fortress, located on the northeastern tip of Skyrim. Somewhat isolated from the rest of Nord culture, but still wealthy and influential, it is known as one of the Old Holds. Due to its proximity to Morrowind's border, Winterhold is heavily affected by Dunmer ways and ideas, fueling part of its economy. It contains the Ysmir Collective, and the well-known College of Winterhold. The ruins of Saarthal are closeby. ---> http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Winterhold

Id love to fight Jagar Tharn, mounted on a cliffracer, wielding a huge spear, and then throw his ass on Red Mountain. However, since this has nothing to do with the actual game, I guess I wont get my wish.

The Tribunal is dead, so are Ordinators. Get over it.

Tribunal went bye-bye. When the Nerevarine did his thing in MW, it weakend them. Two are dead.First Sotha Sil , then Almalexia. Finally Vivec wigged out, and took off somewhere. There shouldn't be ordinators in Skyrim.

I wouldn't mind having a few ordinator ghosts chime in once in a while, just for

I actually liked that about them.
If they appear in Skyrim, then I would like that they keep that feature.

Anyway.
I would like to see them again and think that it could even been possible.
Since Dunmer city will be for, well, Dunmer, then I suppose that they will have a temple there and someone to guard it (ie. Ordinators).

I don't believe a Dunmer city was ever confirmed for the game.
