Config inside to increase FPS!

Post » Tue May 28, 2013 5:49 pm

So me and Spitfire combined forces to create a pretty good config that capped our FPS's at 120 (we lock it at that). Here it is!

g_skipintro = 1
r_motionblur = 0.0001
r_hdrbrightlevel = 0
r_hdrbloommul = 0
cl_fov = 80
pl_movement.power_sprint_targetFov = 80
r_hitblur = 0
sys_maxfps = (whatever your refresh rate is + 1)
q_ShaderFX = 0
q_ShaderGeneral = 0
q_ShaderGlass = 0
q_ShaderHDR = 0
q_ShaderIce = 0
q_ShaderMetal = 0
q_ShaderPostProcess = 0
q_ShaderShadow = 0
q_ShaderSky = 0
q_ShaderTerrain = 0
q_ShaderVegetation = 0
q_ShaderWater = 0
q_ShaderGlass = 0
e_GI = 0
r_DepthOfField = 0
g_radialBlur = 0
r_fullscreenwindow = 1
i_mouse_smooth 0
I_mouse_accel 0
e_ParticlesObjectCollisions 0
e_ParticlesMotionBlur 0
e_ParticlesForceSoftParticles 0
e_Tessellation 0
r_WaterTessellationHW 0
r_SilhouettePOM 0
e_ShadowsTessellateCascades 0
r_FogShadows 0
r_FogShadowsWater 0
r_SSReflections 0
r_DepthOfField 0
r_ChromaticAberration 0.0
r_HDRGrainAmount 0.0
r_HDRBloomRatio 0.0
r_ssao 0
e_ShadowsTessellateCascades 0

If you want to use this config, follow the instructions below:

1. Go to this file location: (Drive Letter your OS is installed on):\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Crysis 3
2. Right click -> new ->text document
3. Name it autoexec (it will save as a text file by default).
4. copy and past the commands into the text document
5. File -> Save As -> All File Types -> autoexec.cfg
6. Right click on your newly created autoexec.cfg file -> properties -> check read-only in the General Tab

Enjoy!

Does the 120hz monitor really look that much better? It seems like a lot of pain. >.> I can run everything maxed out almost at 60fps.

What advantages does the 120hz monitor have?

120Hz monitors often have better viewing angles, the blacks are crushed, the whites are pure white, and the refresh rate is obviously incredibly high. The smoothness factor between 120 and 60 is insane. I am never going back to 60Hz.

how much performance gain can u except over standard c3 lowesting setting? ~10-20%?

fyi autoexec.cfg doesnt seem to do anything for me(def made .cfg file n read only), but editing the config.sys file seem to work.

What cabling are you using for the monitor?

Will try config, I thought we didn't have access to these anymore :)

You can see a bit more to the sides... It's just a bit more immersive
