  • Cooking, farming, wood-cutting, and mining, in addition to weapon-smithing, can be done in different towns.

Know cooking and mining is verified as activities/ crafts and smithing is a skill, has been discussion if we can cut wood also if we can make a fireplace with it.
Has not heard anything about farming except that we can harvest plants like in Oblivion and Morrowind.

Can we just stop kidding ourselves are call them what they really are? TALENT POINTS, and SPECS. This reeks of World of Warcraft to me.

Guess that depends what game you choose to compare it with :). To me it sounds more like the skills and augmentations from Deus Ex, except the augments (perks) are doled out one per level instead of being bought or found in the environment.

Textures, models, ai scripts, etc. are created first on the PC at very high resolution, then scaled down for the Xbox360 to get the game running as fast as possible. They transfer those optimizations to the PC version, so we can enjoy all our high-res assets without requiring a beast computer to use them.

Sounds plausible - but do we know this or is it just reasonable speculation? Oh, and models created at high resolution, then scaled down? Really? I mean, I'm a rubbish modeller, but even I know that trying to automatically scale down a model and the UV map is likely to give some pretty weird results. As for scripts having a resolution...

Wrong. Developed on the 360. Todd confirms this.

Ha, no. Todd confirmed they make the game on PC. The graphics are developed on Xbox360.

Not yet. I wish a mod would sticky this, or make a stickied thread like it. That way we avoid OVER 9000 (What 9000?!) threads on crap we already know is confirmed or denied.

Would be nice if some of the FAQ would be answered when possible. The attributes are pretty much my make or break detail at this point. If they're still in, I'll svck up the things I don't like and accept Skyrim for what it is. If they're out, I wont waste everyone else's time bickering and lamenting, as I wont be getting the game anyways.

Thank you very much though for taking the time to answer me. =)

alchemy in the stealth skillset
pc version has different menu
"more quests than oblivion"
character creation gives you a set a choice of your features from a prebuilt set, then you can modify attributes. ex: you choose one of several noses, then move how high it sits on your chars face. ect
greybeards "call" the character from high hrothgar, their voice echoes across the landscape to let the player know he has to see them.
http://www.gameinformer.com/b/podcasts/archive/2011/02/03/toddhowardse.aspx

and..
smithing is confirmed as a skill in SS of the skill menu, on the official site. on the right side of the picture.
http://cdn.zenimax.com/akqacms/files/tes/screenshots/SkillsMenu_wLegal.jpg

so that's alchemy, smithing, 1h weapons, destruction, restoration, conjuration, alteration, illusion, enchanting, marksman

leaves 8 skills left :D kind of looks like the end of "speechcraft" at the left of that SS, and i'm assuming 2h weapons is a skill. so that leaves 6?

Can you or anybody tell me, and link me, to where you got this info. If it's from a magazine maybe pm the word for word?

Confirmed: PC version will have improved graphics by default. The game has been primarily developed on the PC.

Yeaaah, definitely not confirmed. Pretty sure this game is being developed on the 360. But either way neither has been confirmed.

And if it has, link please.

Scars and face paint will be able to be used for characters, along with an armour decal system

Good read I thought the night sky being changed affected only the menu seeing it in-game should be cool.
Also this thread should be stickied :) and maybe add a section on features we know are not in.

  • There are 280 perks chosen of the course of 50 levels in a branching skill tree though it will not be possible for any one player to accumulate all of them.

This one is a bit misleading. There is no single "branching skill tree", but rather a seperate perk-tree under each skill (18 trees in total).

  • Creatures include mammoths, giant spiders, elk, trolls, ice wraiths, zombies, sabre-toothed cats, giants, wolves, skeletons and dragons. Children are also featured in the game.

You forgot draugr.

Confirmed:

When random quests are attributed, the game will look at 2 things:

1) Your higher 2 skills and the missions will be atributed in accordance to those.
This mean : it harder to chance character direction, you don t pick quests at a "real" will. But this will help you lvl faster cause experience is based on higher skills raise.

2) The game will watch where you ve been and set a local your never been.
Not all bad, but i consider this scary.
Especialy when allied with the rumor that dungeon/location froze levels bracket when you enter the area. That means if you travel a lot earlyer in the game you will have a lot of low lvl zones.
I hope there a chance part of the "cell" wil be "rescaled" because if all is rescaled we will end with Oblivion scale problem, and it nothing is rescalled we will end with a low lvl game. Especially considering that Oblivion open "field" was small and they sayd Skyrim will be more or less Oblivion "field" size.
