Did the article mention how they knew this? Honestly I seen magazine regurgitate stuff from the internet, its a popular theory.

I think this was already well established, but I guess its nice to get actual confirmation.

Erm, no offense, but we've been knowing that since E3. How else could we have gotten into a Vault and survive for 200 years to emerge back to the outside world?

That's the smart money, and is a lot more viable than the dreaded "You're an Android/It was a simulation" angle people clung to in hopes of shaking off the chains of parenthood and monogamy.

I actually got that issue of Game Informer about three days after posting that article, and can confirm that it is just as it appears. They don't cite a quote or source, but there's little in the article that seems to be intended as speculation. It's really just meant as a rehash of the E3 demo. As others have said, it's the most likely theory right now.
