Confirmed Weapons

So mods will not work on Uniques. Intersting stuff. I bet I might find I prefer my modded to preference weapons over some of the uniques. Or I bet each weapon will have a short list, 3 probably, of mods and uniques will have all three and a unique skin to boot.
Yeah, each weapon has a short list of about 3 modifications, though some may only have two. However uniques will not have mods attached to them, at least some (see Virgin Mary 9mm Pistol) will not.

makes sense, I mean the uniques are already specially modified, ie. dmg, weight, ammo cap ect

Good point. I forgot about the already released pic of the Virgin Mary without the scope. I'll have to try to remember to remember better.(They say memory is the 3rd thing that goes with old age) But it kinda reinforces my main point. Maybe a fully modded non-unique would be more attractive than the unique. A regular 9mm with heavy barrel, extended mag and scope might be more utile than the Virgin Mary which lacks the scope and extra ammo capacity.

And that reminds me. Found a few more mod references:

Pulse rifle - magnetic accelerator
9mm - heavy barrel
Varmint rifle - scope, silencer

Where'd you see the pulse rifle reference, if you don't mind me asking?

Game Revolution preview linked from NMA. I can try to find the exact date if you want, but I'm pretty sure it was in the NMA archives month of may. Ah, http://www.gamerevolution.com/preview/xbox360/fallout-new-vegas

Also, in response to the questions asked about the quantity of weapons so far I got out the slide rule and crunched a few numbers:

There is a total (including DLC, but not including the 13 hidden weapons only available to PC users) of 134 weapons. If FO:NV is to have "twice as many" as FO3, it will have to have somewhere around 200+ weapons. So far I have listed 56.

It depends on what sort of metrics were used when they claimed "twice as many". If it's by the gamesas methodology (remember, they claimed there were well over 100 different endings), we could actually wind up with fewer core weapons in new vegas than in fo3. I'd like to believe that the "twice as many" claim is backed up in a way that a normal human being would approve of. Seeing as obsidian are claiming less than 10 endings this time, things are definitely pointing that way. You just never know. Still, when the Toddster starts talking, it's probably a good idea to break out the rubber boots.

I definitely think a fully modded non-unique will be a lot more attractive than the unique version, but uniques will come with some sort of advantage that non-uniques cannot possess even with mods (i.e. Virgin Mary Pistol will probably be more damaging than a regular 9mm Browning Hi-Power, but will not have the scope, extendable clip size, or [whatever the hell heavy barrel does]), and thus there will be a trade-off point.

And pulse rifle? Not plasma rifle? 'Cause I think the YK42B Pulse Rifle in New Vegas would be awesome.

Most if not all of them will have noticeable differences.

I'm specifically NOT using their list. I've checked it out and a lot of stuff on there is not referenced, nor can I recall seeing it anywhere other than the wiki. I want to compile this list completely from what we see in the trailers, demos, interviews etc... as well as comments made by JES here.

Everything on The Vault is confirmed otherwise I, the mods/admins or Ausir would of quickly gotten rid of it.

Fantastic. Maybe you could help me with the references for a few items. I can't seem to find any for:

10mm SMG
Camouflaged rifle
power fist
fire axe

And only single source for

Riot gun
Cyberpunk SMG

It seems as though a lot of the discussion pages were deleted and there is a bleak lack of references on the pages. I would love to find out where you all got these.

Let me look...

Camouflaged rifle is on that ghoul's back. It's a speculative name based on the color of it (army camouflage) but yes it's there. (The ghoul, picture and weapon are indeed real. It's all in the older magazine previews.)

Can't find anything on the 10mm SMG, it must be in one of the previews and I don't feel like looking right now.

Unconfirmed: Power fist and Fire axe. I am guessing they are also in previews.

There is no "riot gun". There's a Riot Shotgun and you confirmed that already so I don't know what you are talking about.

Cyberpunk SMG is there: "It's on page 66 of issue 206 of GameInformer. The weapon is used by a character wearing the new NCR uniform and wearing a cowboy hat." (from the Talk page)

I'll ask about those unconfirmed weapons, I bet they are in the previews.

I have looked at every preview, interview, etc linked to from NMA or the Vault back to May 1 so far. Also every post JES has ever made here. I can find no mention of 10mm SMG, power fist or fire axe being in the game. The buttstock on Raul's back can not be confirmed as a new weapon. It could just be a stock mod for one of the other rifles. All you can see is the butt.

And for the Riot gun (that's another common usage term for riot shotgun) and the cyberpunk, I've included them, albeit without confirming their names, because I've seen the scan of what appears to be an SMG and in that same article, it appearently mentions a bartender with a "Riot Shotgun". As far as I know this is the only place of these being mentioned. I've found multiple sources for most other stuff and would like to verify these two. How come no other media reported on them? AFAIK, they all saw the same demo.

Back to May 1st is useless. You must look at all magazine previews before that, look at all the internet previews and watch all the Fallout: New Vegas videos.

Rats, I was really hoping you'd have to choose 3 mods out of maybe 4 or 5 for some guns.

It has a laser sight because it is the most inaccurate piece of garbage.

It's supposedly not going to be as inaccurate this time around.

I'm wondering what the Laser Rifle is going to be like. They mentioned recently that there were going to be low tier weapons for every class so people that like Energy Weapons can get something early on too. I just hope that the Laser Rifle isn't that low tier weapon. They've revealed a lot of plasma weapons but we've only seen a brief glimpse of one laser weapon. Oh well, at least the Laser Rifle is looking pretty awesome right now.
