Confirmed Weapons

Post » Sat Sep 18, 2010 4:58 am

I'm wondering what the Laser Rifle is going to be like. They mentioned recently that there were going to be low tier weapons for every class so people that like Energy Weapons can get something early on too. I just hope that the Laser Rifle isn't that low tier weapon. They've revealed a lot of plasma weapons but we've only seen a brief glimpse of one laser weapon. Oh well, at least the Laser Rifle is looking pretty awesome right now.

I hope the fallout 3 laser rifle is the lower tier while the fallout 1&2 laser is the mid or high-tier.

Shotguns
Lever-action Shotgun, 20GA (ST 4, resembles Winchester model 1887)
[i]Riot Shotgun

these 2 are one of the reasons I <3 Vegas already.

I notice in a demo showing the icon for the level action shows the stock being cut down, not impossible it′s aimed at resembling the level-action from Terminator 2 (possible including the trademark one hand spin cocking motion from the same movie).

I also read there is a theory that the riot shotgun might be pump action :3

Didn't notice the cut-down stock. Have to check.

Riot shotguns universally would normally be pumps. I'm sure semi-autos are and can be used in that capacity, but if you asked any fiirearms buff to draw a picture of a riot shotgun, they'd draw a pump-action. Here's a http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0oG72X4ETJMrywATkdXNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTEycjIxOHFyBHNlYwNzcgRwb3MDMQRjb2xvA2FjMgR2dGlkA0Y5NDVfOTQ-/SIG=11tsii2hg/EXP=1278436216/**http%3a//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riot_shotgun

look at 3:28 when he goes up the list of weapons to select the grenade launcher, he passes a level-action shotgun on the way to the launcher, pause and look at the icon.

Muchos gracias. Saved me the trouble to find it. The pipboy icon definitely has a chopped stock and it also looks more like a pump. I wonder if they are going to use the same icon for both shotties? The lever-action does have a full stock, as you can see in the IGN trailer with Chris and Larry.

ah well I hope they still have the spin load action anyway (at least as the final motion in the reload animation, or as the gun jam animation) yeah I know it′s classic Hollywood silly, but emit it′s awesome :3

I imagine they'll use an animation that they can reuse for all the lever action weapons, so that pretty much counts that out. Besides, it wouldn't be terribly special if everyone who used that weapon ran around doing that animation.

There had been some discussion in a few threads about the Plasma Defender being a multi-shot shotgun like weapon. I got a good look at a gameplay video (currently being featured in the Indomitable SGT Cooper thread) and confirmed that the damage was listed as "DAM (number)" not "DAM (number)x(number of shots)". So it's confirmed to be a single blast? Ball? Bolt? What the hell do you call a single plasma shot?

Bolt? That's what I've always heard.

a mini gun doesn't belong with the light machine gun because how the hell do you think you can aim with a mini gun

i either call it a blast or a shot (ex: the shot hit/blast hit the caesars legion guy)
