Confirmed Weapons

I just always look at the wiki to look at the confirmed weapons.

I wish the BULLETS would do the damage and not the gun.
The gun would just be the platform and how it effects the bullets performance.

It's basic math. You start with all stats set to 5 and have 5 more points. So only one stat can be maximized, not two or three, and that's fine. But now, if you set your strength to 8, you have only 2 more points to spend. So, you're basically forced to spend more points into STR than any other stat.
Otherwise, you'll never know when you will find some weapon that suits your character skills perfectly, but you won't be able to use it properly. So, my question is simple: How can STR requirements improve gameplay? I still can't find any logical explanation.
You are not required to use the points on Strength. Ideally in RPG's, PC development should create a "path" through the game. adding [or subtracting] to stats opens some doors while closing others.

If your PC is not strong enough to use the bigger guns, then they should have to use them under an accuracy penalty ... (because they can't control or aim them properly); but if they are strong enough, they automatically do so under a different penalty (because they withheld stat points from the other attributes to boost their strength). These weapons are a feature that should be committed to to have unrestricted access; their use should come with a caveat. Effective Big Gun use is part of a PC's chosen path.

IBy forcing weaknesses on the very strong. Thus forcing you to overcome those weaknesses in game..

You can be a good sniper with no weaknesses or a very powerful sniper with some solid weaknesses. Your choice.

Scince it's to small a topic to start a whole new topic, you should add confirmed money types (I think there's 4)
There's three; caps, NCR dollars, and Legion coins. The only sort of "fourth" currency is casino chips, which can be cashed in for caps. And there's been topics on currencies and the game economy. This thread is for confirmed weapons, not a source of game info on everything. That's what The Vault is for.

Actually im pretty sure that if the battle rifle is what i think it is ( a 7.62 ) then its more like an AR-10 then an AR-15

It looks far more like an AR-10 than an AR-15 anyway.

Pretty sure that's either all or most of them, barring unique weapons. They did say there was twice as much weapons as FO3, and the confirmed weapon list is about twice as much as FO3 before DLC.

I think you're forgetting melee weapons, there's more of those than there are firearms.

I would like history behind the weapons to add to the canon.

Boxing Gloves could be useful with The Paralizing Palm perk if it comes back in New Vegas.

.46, one problem with the minigun. It doesn't look like the Fallout 3 version anymore. It's a rustic orange color now instead of the matte black. You can even see in the 1:00 minute long IGN trailer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkbsI16HmF0. Also it looks like there's some sort of black wheel around the barrels as well.

It hasnt been officially mentioned but im pretty sure if the trail carbine is 44. then there's also gon be a 44. magnum and having an unscoped 44. was my dream lol and then i ended up having to let Paulson die on Mothership Zeta to get it and with mods available the 44. (if its in FNV) wont come pre-scoped, we would probs have to do it ourselves.

Found a really good pic that shows an AR-10 and an early M-16 right next to each other. Note that there are vast differences betweent the two. The 3rd rifle down in the pic is the M-16 and the one just beneath is the AR-10.

Jeebus, what is that on barrel, a heat shroud? Flash suppressor?

Flash surpressor/recoil compensator. The weapons pictured are on display at the Springfield Armory Museum, and as such were delivered there for trials. The AR-10 was probably fitted with the original Sulalloy aluminim barrel. I've seen the picture of the one that blew up in the trial against the T44 (M14) and the T48 (FN FAL). Once the barrel blew up, that was it for the AR-10. Fitted with a standard steel barrel, it was a better weapon. Later production AR-10s (made in Holland by AI) had the more conventional muzzle brake of the AR-15 fitted.

Also, If my memory serve me, this particular AR-10 is the one with the wooden pistol grip. One of the trails weapons had (for reasons I don't know, probably a field repair) it's bakelite (glass re-inforced plastic) pistol grip replaced with a wooden one. This is the ONE AND ONLY reference I can find to any wooden furniture on ANY AR-10, AR-15 or M-16.

It's pretty damn cool, if you ask me. I hadn't realized the fiberglass was so visible through the resin (like carbon fiber), and it's interesting to see that weapons manufacturers were going through the same problems with aluminum as the automotive industry. Of course, cars were better for it once they sorted out the problems with the heads/block, and worked out the sleaves. Guns, notsomuch.

Cannot wait to try all these weapons out... Coupled with the amount of gameplay New Vegas is suppose to yield, it is going to blow me away. :user:
