I'm confused on how ammo works in this game.

Post » Sun Sep 26, 2010 5:14 am

I basically have one question. Does the ammo have weight only in hardcoe mode or is the new ammo having weight system forced on the regular mode too? In my opinion it wouldn't be as fun if you could only carry a certain amount of ammo with you because if you can still carry your whole weapon collection with you, why not all of your ammo?

So to wrap things up. Is ammo weight exclusive to hardcoe mode or not?

How about in casual mode? Meds will work exactly the same as FO3?

OK I am deeply relieved now. I was hoping all of these new challenging features would remain in hardcoe mode only. I really wanted to keep the challenging character and casual character separate.

I'll be playing on hardcoe during my second playthrough while my first will be my main until I think of ways to improve my character.I wouldn't want ammo to have weight.I usually loot every weapon or ammo I see.

hardcoe mode on the first playthough, so it will feel like you need to really think what you do, like you should when surviving in a post apocalyptic setting.

I'm playing hardcoe, I will definately yell out curses during one interval or another, but it will have that awesome feeling of accomplishment of even the most meaninglest tasks in the game(hopefully none).

I'd guess each round would weigh 0.01-0.025 pounds.

Basically 100 rounds = 1 - 1.25 pounds.

I see in my mind's eye Josh with a scale and a bunch of bullets. I bet he actually did weigh the rounds to get an accurate number. I recall somewhere he stated that the engine can support weights down to some rediculous ammount, something like .0001 pound or something, so I bet 100 185gr 10mm SWC will weight exactly what they do in real life.

Eh, ammo weight was a tricky thing in FO3, since weight had to be no less then 0.01 pounds. If this means that that it fixed, then excuse me while I do my happy dance ;)
