I don't need DirectX 11, I'm not disappointed for the lack of DirectX 11 (*). The only thing I want are games that runs "beautifully". And Crysis 2 surely has got the point. Tessellation is great, but seems to be hard to implement properly these days, and it can easily kill performance without giving back any tangible results (look, for example, at Dragon Age II: all that power required for minimal visual impacts. That game runs like s**t on a GTX 580 at 1920x1200.)
I don't need DirectX 11 games that have bad graphics, still they require SLI systems because they're badly optimized / engineered. I want games that look amazing and runs with human hardware. I have a GTX 580 and the game runs like it is supposed to do: 60 fps.
Thank you Crytek, I'm really happy for my purchase.
(*) Don't take me wrong. If you think DirectX 11 is the thing that really matters for "good graphics", you're wrong. Crysis 2 is an amazing game because it let you play NOW. If you're on a single headed machine and you are required to own more than a GTX 580, there is something wrong with the game, remember. In fact, many games require SLI configurations and still are worse than Crysis 2, graphically speaking.
