Conjurationarcher build - worth using a sword?

Post » Fri Jul 26, 2013 10:09 am

Hey guys, now Im currently running a build where I summon atronachs and finish enemies off using archery. Im loving the style except its useless against fast running bosses which are always up in your face, I pretty much always have to resort to playing cat and dog whilst my atronach finishes people off.

So I'm looking at using a sword for the close encounters? Is this worth it or is it better to just stick to conjuration and archery? 2 skills would be easier to level up together rather than 3 skills but I'm just not sure... I'm currently level 13 as well so still pretty new.

Also if you do recommend using a sword too, should I use bound or normal? Thanks a lot :)

Use a Bound Sword. You're already investing in Conjuration. Just take some perks in One Handed.

This.

Or you could add illusion instead of one-handed for defense. Calm spell is a great defensive spell when you archer gets run down.

As strong as a Daedric Sword if you get Mystic Binding.

Bound sword is great for very fast leveling of Conjuration but a normal damage-enchanted sword may be more powerful and much faster to draw when surprised.

Definitely invest in onehanded as it is just natural, more effective and more fun. you can also dual wield with bound swords which is the only way to dual wield effectively with any magic using character.

I rather use a dagger. Hardly no stamina usage. Its up to you. If you want to level conjuration use bound sword.

The Witchhunter build, the classics never die.

You can make the Bound sword as powerful as a Daedric Sword as early as level 3, the 'Mystic Binding' perk requires a mere 20 Conjuration skill. You should perk one-handed up to Fighting Stance just so that if you do have to fight in melee, you can get it done quickly and safely with power attacks.

Yes, and best of all, you won't have to invest in smithing, which will keep you from "accidentally" making yourself uber-powerful.

With the mystic binding perk, your bound sword is literally a zero weight Daedric sword. Also, use bound bow. With mystic binding it's like the most powerful bow in the game or close to it. Again, zero weight!

Conjurer master race.
