Connary

The people there had decided to construct the towns gates due the constant attack of all kind of beast. Also the walls has been finished all around the perimeter and the town layout has gained some interest. The doors can be activated. The first position its semi opened to allow the guards to exit the town.

Looks fantastic! I love the addition of the gates - makes the town feel more protected (what's the point of gate towers if there is no gate to keep out bandits and blight creatures?). The Pawnbroker and Clothier signs look amazing! So does the diamond-pane window. :tops:

It looks great, though kind of bleak. :cryvaultboy:

Reminds me of Resident Evil 4 :gun:

Bit of a realism niggle... but those gates should open outwards towards the wilderness - that would add strength to them when closed (there's also usually a beam across the defending side to help bar the gates against forced entry, but you wouldn't need to actually add that since it looks like those are the stock gates).

The Caldera retexture now gives the impression of a well established industrial town.

One could add the iron holding bits (No idea what they are called) on either side of the gate and the wooden bar propped up against the guard tower. That is if you really want to add it.

The additional area expansions remind me of http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=8366. It also adds small bits and pieces to make the world more complete.

I am not sure X3TC 2.6 is going to be the final patch Connary so I would not jump ahead and call your next version the final one. :D

The new pictures look great, the fog may have ruined the contrast a little, but that does not stop showing off the fantastic textures & additions. :)

Humm, i understand but taking a closer look at the doors itself you will see that there arent reinforced doors or defensive doors against attackers. This kind of worn doors only have the purpose to defend against the blighted animals from the wilderness but dont make Caldera a real defensive position against a little bunch of pillagers. I will take in consideration the idea of the doors open outwards but for the same reason this doors have the hinges unprotected in both sides.

Okay, I'm blind. I had to get rid of my whole Morrowind folder and reinstall everything because it started to crash constantly -- think I messed up putting some mods in or something. Either way, I know somebody posted a link to connary's OLD texture replacer somewhere in this thread and I can't seem to find it. Whoever put it up... could you repost it? Thanks.

Are the skies in the Caldera pictures from your project too? I recall that you had some problems with your sky replacer WIP at some point, I assume you figured it out now?

here you go. It doesn't include all of his textures, so I suggest you install visual pack as a base and paste these over mvp. And if you have a lot of CTDs, you could download the "GotY script tidy" mod on PES. It really helps with annoying CTDs; the only ones I've had since the install of GotY script tidy are caused by mods :)

Ah, yeah. Really not 100% sure what was causing it, but I had messed around with so much [censored] last install that it's really not surprising it started crashing so much. Totally deleted my whole Morrowind folder, got rid of MWGE and MWE, re-downloaded them fresh, got all my mods back minus the ones that I ended up not wanting before. Working fine now.

Anyway, this is totally off-topic. You rock, connary!

STDs/CTDs: The more women/mods you use, the more likely it is you'll get one.

Looks great, as usual. With new kitchens, caldera gates, balmora river and so on, it's not surprising that it's taken so long. Hopefully it comes out before OpenMW eh? *chuckle* As always, look forward to the release, especially if you include armour and weapons.

Dont get angry Tronvillain, lol. This little add ons dont take to much time. But i really need a momentary change to the texture work. This help me to maintain my mind clear about the general look of things.
Well, if my mod goes along the lgnpc Nerevarine, TR complete or perhaps La sagrada família here in Barcelona then i will finish it in time, XD.

Hm, i don't really like the imperial bricks texture. Old textures was better, i think.
Here's your old examples:

You can always just paste the old texture over the new Khunka, problem solved for you.

I can think in some problems and inconsistencies of the old textures, the drystonewalls must be rounded stones not cutted ones, the plaster its really plain, dont have a sense of verticality without any kind of leaking stains, the stone walls show a horrid repetition (you can see the example in the far house in seyda neen in the screenshot you use) the upper level walls in wood dont work at all in the different environments...but well finally its all about taste and you can as Akallabeth say put on top the old ones.

I will move from Caldera to Pelagiad then i will show the AI.

The netch is spectacular ! Love the hint of a glisten to the upper surface and the detailing on the underside of its upper carapace . The two imperial faces are brilliant though the old style hair was distracting ! ( tough to please , I know ! ) :-D

Amazing! The faces are so realistic! And those bull netch look so slimy! :D

Which makes sense - I wonder if they breathe (respire) through their skin like amphibians? If they do, they would require a moist surface for gas exchange, hence being slimy. Then again, would slimy skin make good leather, like Netch Leather? Eh, it is a fantasy creature, sure it will make nice armor! :D [/biology]

And thank you for explaining about your design decisions for those imperial stucco textures. I find it very interesting to learn about the design process.
