"Connection To Host Failed" issue

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 6:06 am

I will say about this game connectivity issue is that you may need to repeat these steps if you restart your computer. I went back online today for a few rounds and was getting disconnected as per usual. I went back through these steps and everything has been fine.

Crytek please take a look at this technical issue it's a pain keep entering my keycode twice

Man, you don′t need change dmz/ open ports/ realtime virus scanner ... All you ′ve to do is type you key every time you access to the multiplayer session. It′s a little bit tedious, I know, but, right now, it′s the only way to resolve this problem. Maybe new path is coming soon.
Greetings.

Ok. So. I hate whining on a forum, but this is getting pathetic. Aside from the horrible lag, I still enjoy playing this game, my problem as of late? Well I just randomly lag out at random times in games.

The game stops, says migrating to new session, counts down to 0, then it boots me out.

I am worried that I might have been inadvertently and mistakenly banned?

Does this happen to anyone else?

This does not happen every single game, just all-to often, I figure if I was "banned" it would boot me instantly or something. Could anyone PLEASE clarify?

Playing on Xbox.

I think some people may have connection issues with a router or whatever, but the main problem of suddenly getting kicked from a server with the dreaded 'Lost connection to host' message is common amongst most players. I was getting it myself on my own server but I seem to have fixed it for my server and also someone else who read my post said it made things better for their server too.

I think this is down to errors with the server files. What is happening is servers are crashing, so you and everyone else on the server loses their connection to it. I found out that the default server rotation config of a new server has a particular map running a particular gametype that it doesn't support. For example 'Impact' doesn't support the 'Crash Site' game, but they have this in the default rotation, and it might be causing server crashes.

It seemed to me that running my server in a mixed gametype was when it was crashing most. And I could be wrong about this but I have definitely sorted out the problem with my server.

On Saturday I changed my rotation config to make sure that no map had an unsupported gametype, I set my server to run unranked (I still go up in ranks and stuff) with a limit of 1 player and with a time limit of 20 minutes per game, 300 pts to win, running the Crash Site gametype all the time. After running around my server for about 5 minutes someone else joined, and eventually the server filled up with players and remained full all day and for the evening. I myself had a fair amount of hours playing on it with no probs at all.

So there is light at the end of the tunnel. GSP's are working on rcon control for server admins that will be integrated into the server control panel so we can kick and ban, and also as far as I know my GSP is releasing a server patch on Monday, I am hoping Cryteks patch will coincide with it.

Try going on servers with a custom setup rather than standard with mixed gametypes. Anyone is welcome on my London based server anytime if they want to test out the connection issues. 173.199.78.224:64000.

It's a rockin' good game is Crysis 2 when it works properly. :)

I have a similar problem, I also keep losing connection way too many times, that is if I am lucky enough to actually get a game before I get bored and stop trying. I am playing on PC though, my NAT is moderate but I have spoke to my internet service provider and they have told me that there is nothing more they can do for me. Any ideas people? Any help at all would be great and appreciated.

I play this game on a PC and after a game and a half I always lose connection to the host and I'm sure that it's not my internet that does that. Another thing is that I get XP roll-backs sometimes, for example: I play 1 game I finish it, go for another one I get DCed in the middle of it and I lose all the XP from that particular game and the previous one.

If you are using a D-Link router, try disabling the SPI firewall and the UPnP.

I'm glad others have this issue. Fortunately I've actually been pretty lucky. I only had maybe 2-3 DC's sunday. None today but I only played like, 5 games.

I heard somewhere that the Crysis servers reboot every 6 hours? I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

So, is there any update about the connection to host fail? I can't join 99.99% of all server because of this. As I haven't seen anyone else QQing about that, I'm wondering if I'm the only one left with this problem lol.

Bump. I have the same issue with C2, can you join a game at all? cause I can join a game, play for 2 minutes or so then it kicks me to the login screen saying "Lost connection to host".

Yes I can join a game and stay there. My problem only occurs in the server browser, where 99% of all servers are showing a ping of 1000 and I'm not able to join them. Sometimes it occurs at the servers with a low ping but after trying it 2-5 times I can join these servers.
Are your firewall ports open?

So, bump.
