Purchased the Dead Money DLC via Steam two days ago, played through the acquisition of Collar 8 and Collar 12.

But now, every time I click on the door to the Residential District (to acquire Collar 14), the game presents two splash screens and the spinning roulette wheel, then crashes to desktop with the "FalloutNV has encountered a problem" error message.

Troubleshooting so far:
- Quit and restarted Steam client.
- Updated NVidia drivers from my card's manufacturer (EVGA)
- Verified Cache Integrity for Fallout: New Vegas from the Steam client (Interestingly, both times, verify reported that a single file could not be verified and would be reacquired -- and it was, so far as I can tell.)

None of these has eliminated the problem.

At this point, the DLC is unplayable, because I can't move forward without Dean (Collar 14). I would hope that a patch is forthcoming, but perhaps there are tricks I've not employed.

Otherwise, I'm wondering if Steam will refund my $9.99.

i have been having crashes and also did what you did to no avail, but not just in residential district.
