consol version vs pc version

Post » Thu Oct 20, 2011 1:10 am

For me it all started when i went to bockbuster in the middle of a storm. By chance i happened upon morrowind. When i returned home to play it, it blew my freakin mind. i obsessed over it, played it for hours, just as hardcre as any pc gamer, sans mods.
Now, when oblivion came out i didn't have a 360 or a ps3. so i got it for pc, and had to play with the lowest graphics quality cause my pc svcked. But it was the best [censored] 2 years of my life! I loved playing, and though i had a few mods to enhance caracter apearance, I foundd that the game it'self did not need changing. Now I hope the past isn't clouded with nostalgia, cause that's gonna svck, but if Skyrim truely fixed the ugly people problem, i will likely have no complaints. So no modding is necessary.

The decision now is that i have a top of the line gaming pc and a ps3. after playing oblivion on the ps3 fr the past few months (friend let me borrow it) I have definitely decided that the Dual shock 3 is def. the way to go. it's way more comfortale to sit on my couch ad watch skyrim on my 56" tv than on my 32'' monitor. lolz.

Who else is getting the consol version?

I plan to make the move from Xbox to PC. I will be using an Xbox controller, PC and a 47" HDTV.
Get ready for :flamethrower:

Ya know you can always hook up the computer to the TV and use a controller from the couch and still gain the benefits of better graphics, mods, etc

This, and you can buy a USB Ps3 controller to use with it.

Mods aren't just there to fix problems with the game. They can also add so much more to the experience as well.

Look out! * ducks *

I'm likely getting PS3 version as well and looking forward to it. I totally 'get' your point of view, but oh boy you're in for some serious 3rd degree burns posting this here. The 733t PC crowd is just lurking around the corner.

I dont think it's flamebait, I like console games just as much as I like PC games. I'm still considering buying PS3 over my PC preorder with all the massive game glitches games for PC are having these days. That in no way makes one better then the other, just makes me impatient

I am getting the ps3 version, cause I don't have a top of the line gaming computer. I totally agree it is so much more comfortable to sit on a nice leather couch, turn on the surround sound and play video games on a 50" inch 1080p tv-beats pc gaming any day.

Actually re-reading it, really makes it sound like it is just flamebait. "i have a top of the line gaming pc" yet the problem is he/she wants the bigger TV? How can you have a 'top of the line gaming pc' yet not know how to hook it up to a HDTV?

A 56" TV at "couch distance" will take up *less* of your visual field, compared to what a 32" monitor will at normal PC usage distance.

This is the only issue I have, when people "brag" about large TVs, when in actuality they will be smaller.

As for the comfortable couch thing, sure that is a preference and up to you. Although you could easily do that with a PC + controller as well.

Fixed.
Though personally, play on whatever system you enjoy, just because one system may or may not be better than the other DOES NOT change your experience with the game. If you enjoy playing Skyrim on *insert platform here*, that is all that matters.

I sit on my sofa using a PC and have an HDMI cable to the TV...best of both worlds. I wouldn't want to sit at a desk. I also have a PS3 and love that too. I still think Oblivion is beautiful on the PS3 and one reason I switched to PC is for mods and bugfixes. My Oblivion on PS3 got hit with the A-bomb on my first game. I was heartbroken so anything I can do to make sure that doesn't happen again is what I'll do. I think a lot of gamers have more than one system and I love both of mine.

We get here as quickly as we can - miracles take a little longer. :)

I predict this ending.

There is already too much flamebait in this topic so I am closing it before people get into trouble.
