Console and Fraction Poll

So that is why. I figured people just assumed thats the way it would be anyway. Learn something new every day.

I'm just awesome like that. :D

And just to flesh it out a bit, here's some copypasta:

There was a project that got killed at Microsoft. This project was designed to allow console gamers and PC gamers to interact and battle over a connected environment. Personally I wish it would have stayed the course. I've heard from reliable sources that during the development they brought together the best console gamers to play mediocre PC gamers at the same game... and guess what happened? They pitted console gamers with their "console" controller, against PC gamers with their keyboard and mouse.

The console players got destroyed every time. So much so that it would be embarrassing to the XBOX team in general had Microsoft launched this initiative.

Damn. I didn't know it was that bad. Oh well, I would have liked to have seen them go through it also. It would be really interesting to see in a game.

It's a shame really, it killed a fun and unique game

In co-op modes perhaps. But I'd be mad as hell if I was forced to go against m/kb using my controller in competitive modes.

It's about the same. However, since the huge flow of new people in the last two weeks, we got out numbered to the Security. It means we need more ammo.

More ammo? who needs it *waves ammo resupplies around*

There is the EVE Online MMO shooter that's coming up? DUST 514.

it's supposedly going to tie players together on PS3, XBox 360 and PC.

Although early testers I've heard about have been saying it doesn't work very well, so it's possible nothing will come of it...

I had some hopes for that game but it was far too ambitious of a project right now. Especially considering how the correlation between the PC game and the console game would actually work. How would troops be delivered into battle if all they are doing is infantry PvP on a planet against other plantside enemy factions. If your fleet in orbit is pushed back does the battle end? Can the ground battle affect the conflict happening in the skies above with the use of perhaps orbital defence cannons?

Too many logistics for a game the size and scope of EVE.

Well, it was the first (and probably last) game to allow Xbox 360 players to play cross-platform with PC players. What ultimately ended up happening was that mediocre PC players absolutely destroyed above average console players because of how much more precise m/kb is than controllers. There was some case study that went into greater detail about it, but that's essentially why there isn't any cross-platform between the two today.

EDIT: Fixed a grammar mistake.

i play it on 360 sometimes
