Console command to "reset" character?

Post » Fri May 25, 2012 2:01 am

So, I was practicing to see if my HP would last long enough in a fight with the console command "tim" so I wouldn't die.

Sadly, I find out that it didn't work and in the process I was decapitated. Now there's nothing wrong with running around as a headless horseman, but is there a way to "reset" your character's appearance?

showracemenu/player.setrace failed to work.

Can't you just load a previous save?

Yes, but my auto-saves aren't far enough back because I didn't realize this till I turned the quest in. (Fast traveling and entering buildings overwrote previous auto-saves).

EDIT: Sounds like I'm forever screwed.

Go on Skyrim Nexus and ask someone to make a mod to reset the character and in the mean time make a new one.

Never, never, never, never rely on autosave.

Quicksave is fine for save-now-in-case-of-ctd, but a fixed numbered save is best before any "testing".

Your aware that your autosaves get backed up right? They're in the same folder with .ess.bak extensions.

You can also increase the number of autosaves by putting ...

[SaveGame]iAutoSaveCount=x
... in your skyrim.ini file, replacing x with your desired number of saves.

It also appears that you can increase the number of autosave backups per slot (if you want to limit the saves showing up in game). Haven't tested that one though. Default is as follows ...

iSaveGameBackupCount=1

Works fine for arrows, I'd imagine it would work with this too.

Your head has never been cut off before and lived to tell about it :)

You do get your head "back" but you have a nice little line around your neck saying "It's fixed, but only until you put a helmet on". Plus it's just annoying with that line around your neck it looks so... Horrible.

It's almost like the doctor was putting the stitches on, but realized he didn't fasten it enough and just went "Ah, screw it, no one will notice a huge difference!" What about my Skyrim wife huh?!!? What will she think?! I can't stand this humility! What will our kids look like? Two face from the Dark Knight, I don't want to put them through that!
